A very warm welcome to our brand new justice forum which has been created in order to highlight some possible cases of wrongful conviction.

Jeremy Bamber was on 29 October 1986, convicted, by a majority of ten to two, at Chelmsford Crown Court, for the murder of five members of his family.

Anni Dewani was a Swedish-born ethnic Indian Lohana Hindu woman who, while on her honeymoon in South Africa, was kidnapped and then murdered whilst taking a taxi on a slum tourism trip through Gugulethu township near Cape Town on 13 November 2010.

Kate Prout vanished on 5 November 2007. Her estranged husband Adrian Prout was subsequently tried and convicted of her murder. He has now confessed after failing a lie detector test.

Simon Hall was convicted of the fatal stabbing and murder of Joan Albert in her home in December 2001.

Billy Middleton was acquitted of murder, two counts of attempted murder and of sexual assault by virtue of the notorious 'not proven' verdict following a trial at Aberdeen High Court in March 2009.

On 2 July 1998 Siôn Jenkins was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of his foster daughter Billie-Jo Jenkins. On 9 February 2006, after two appeals and two retrials he was finally acquitted. He had spent six years in prison, and from the outset had consistently maintained his complete innocence.
