He was convicted on the basis of some quite substantial circumstantial evidence including evidence which clearly showed that Kate did not leave home of her own accord. Adrian Prout's failure to cooperate with the investigators did him no favours and was deemed to be extremely suspicious.

His actions towards Kate prior to her disappearance were very worrying. Fortunately, Kate kept a diary and noted these events since she was convinced that he would ultimately do her some sort of harm.

If Kate was still alive do you not think that she would have been in touch with someone by now?

I think reality will hit home some day?
A malicious prosecution for a crime which never existed. An exposé of egregious malfeasance by public officials.
Indeed, the truth never changes with the passage of time.
