What are your political values?

Although this is an American test, I still found it worth doing.  I matched with social liberalism, what about you?

Theocratic Socialism.  Yes, interesting test.

It reminds my of multiple-choice tests at school (and later my gripe with polls and social research). :) I guess my thought processes tend to favour "It depends", which is rarely a possible answer and doesn't equate to  "no opinion".

I'd correspond to a Social Democrat (US definition, i.e. Obama).

From the last 40 years who would be your preferred PM, whether they achieved that role or not ?

I'd have to have a think about that...

No one on the far left or the far right, which narrows things down a little.

It does. That’s why I’d be interested in your answer.

I'm not sure how the weighting works on that test, though.

On the four axes in the "result":

Economic: centrist
Diplomatic : Peaceful
Civil: Liberal

But then...
Societal: Progressive
I have a problem with that one as my views are far more towards the middle than my score shows. The scale is Tradition versus Progress.
Yes, I'm in favour of automation (but only to a certain extent), science and technology... but not at any price.

For example, even though I sometimes waver depending on the situation and the urgency, on the whole I support small handicraft businesses over mass-produced items. Rustic furniture over Ikea. Corner shops in villages over hypermarkets. IMO, if you kill the corner shop, you kill part of the social fabric that binds communities.

Either/or questions are a blunt instrument. I once wrote a survey with yes or no answers. The general public answered quite happily. Students from a local university pointed out that yes and no answers aren't enough.

Agree. I was once involved in a research project in which explanations of views were taken into account. The explanations turned out to be the most revealing of all.

Which somehow brings us back to yes/no referendums and... hmmm, Brexit.

I would have accepted the result if people had had factual information on which to base their views as opposed to what seems to have been a psyops operation.

Every election is based on roughly the same principles.
How can you guarantee that the electorate have read and understood the information provided to them.

There is no guarantee, but what's the point of a democracy if people are misled into believing lies?

As long as all sides can and do lie it’s democracy 😜

the survey doesn’t require yes /no responses- did you give it a go?

Every point.... It's the best there is. Don't you think every party tells lies.
What's the alternative...
