Chief Greg Testa

Greg Testa is the Chief of Police for the Boulder Police Department. He brings more than three decades of law enforcement experience to the position.

The chief oversees all aspects of the department including operations, administration, communications, records, training, property and evidence, victim's services, personnel and finance.

Chief Testa joined the Boulder Police Department in 1987 after working as an officer for the Northglenn Police Department. He served as a commander for the Boulder Police Department for six years before being named deputy chief. He was promoted to police chief in July 2014 after serving for several months as the department's interim chief of police.

Previous assignments have included deputy chief of Support and Staff Services and Operations, overseeing the Detective Section and leading the Boulder County Investigative Team.  Before that, he worked in a variety of positions in patrol, traffic and with the SWAT and bomb teams.

He holds a master's degree in executive leadership in criminal justice from the University of Colorado-Denver and a bachelor's of science degree in computer information systems with a minor in management from Regis University. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy, 229th Session.
