João Grade implied that he had been set-up but later came to view it as PJ incompetence in not checking the possessions properly before they were given to him to carry into the woman's prison.
A malicious prosecution for a crime which never existed. An exposé of egregious malfeasance by public officials.

There couldn't have been much to search. It even had syringes in one of the bags. That was incompetence indeed, if that was the fault lay with the PJ for Grade being arrested.

Leonor Cipriano's lawyer suspended.

Marcos Correia says that disciplinary proceedings resulted from an abuse of Gonçalo Amaral's attorney.

Marcos Aragão Correia was later suspended as a lawyer.

Leonor Cipriano's lawyer, Marcos Aragão Correia, was suspended this Thursday preventive function, following a complaint by António Cabrita, lawyer of former PJ inspector Gonçalo Amaral, who is being prosecuted in the Court of Faro, in the assault on mother of Joan process during an interrogation in PJ.

The information was advanced by the lawyer Marcos Correia IOLPortugalDiário, adding: "I've talked to the president of the Bar lord and the issue will now be unlocked."

Marcos Correia guarantee that today would still participate in the court of Faro in the continuation of the trial of the alleged torture of members of the PJ to his client.  But according to Lusa agency, Judge Henry Peacock refused the request of the barrister to attend the hearing, ordering him to leave the room.

'The doctor will leave the good or evil in this courtroom, "said the judge.

Marcos Aragão Correia upheld the judge's order but went to the central chamber and the external service of the court to prepare an application.

Seemingly the drugs were in a spectacles case.

I believe it was also to do with him breaking a code of court procedure in 2009

We are not discussing criminals on this debate, we are discussing The possible reasons that a lawyer was found with drugs. There was no criminals involved, just incompetence by the look of it, so what are you talking about? We didn't mention Amaral did we?

I tend to agree Anna, João Grade initially thought he had been set up but he also came to realise that it was the GNR who messed up and missed the drugs to begun with.

The subject of Método 3 however and their attempts to discredit Amaral are another issue and should have its own thread.  If someone wants to start one please carry on as I am tied up with removing the crap from yesterday posts on the McCann board.
