Raising Funds for an Appeal

Hi All,

I am looking for some advice in the legality of raising funds to fight a conviction.

We plan to do some fundraising days but also will rely on Social Media and on-line donations.

Which platform can I use to take the donations online? Justgiving (and the likes) are for registered charities only.
Maybe I do need to register a charity? I am unsure.

Any help would be appreciated.
