Common sense tells us that the series of events which Pistorius claims are basically codswallop.  Nobody in their right mind would shoot multiple times blindly through a bathroom door not knowing where your partner was at that very moment in time.

At the very least he is guilty of criminal endangerment causing death.

His defence is indeed codswallop, I don't think the guy has a leg to stand on.
I stand with Putin. Glory to Mother Putin.

I read OP had been surfing internet porn that night while Reeva was there. Strange thing to be doing when your FHM model girlfriend is in the house!

There is a history in this case Tim which no doubt will all come out in court.

How many bullets were fired?

I am going to assume he didn't kill her with the first bullet, it would be a shot in a million if he did.

No, I think he shot, she screamed, he kept shooting because he wanted to kill her.

End of story.

Him and his legs will spend the rest of their existence in jail.

I do think this is correct, SW.

But it is the South African justice system that is on trial here - will be very interesting to see how things work out for him.

Good question, Andrea, I am looking into that myself. This is going to be an interesting case.

Nice to be 'talking' with you! Some of us on the Madeleine board don't get out much...

There were four shots. Reeva was hit in the hip, arm and head. There was a further wound to her finger; it appears they are not sure if this was made by the fourth bullet or an additional wound from one of the other shots.

There are a number of quite detailed videos on the case on Youtube.

Ugh.

I'm guessing the finger wound was a defensive injury, she held her hand up in a futile attempt to ward off the bullets.

Which means, in turn, she was still alive and probably screaming for him to stop.

That poor girl.

Yes, quite a few interesting videos there, Tim.

Do you know of any dedicated sites?

I am sure we will build up a body of interesting conversations here at UKJF.

Hopefully not!

I hope the trial will be quick and painful and he drops off the face of the earth.

But you're probably right, there'll be expensive lawyers all over this, appeals, appeals on the appeals....

I don't know of any dedicated sites Sherlock.

I wonder how much of the live trial broadcast will be shown in the UK ... No doubt it will be on line like the Jodi Arias trial last year. It might become addictive.

Anyone notice how the pretrial propaganda videos are being released on the news? Yesterday we had the prosecution's showing Oscar enthusiastically firing the gun he used to kill Reeva! Today we have the defense's lovely dovey vids of Oscar and Reeva out shopping.

So transparent!

Thats one of the reasons the authorities have agreed it can be televised.

In principle, that sounds like a well-intentioned idea. However, according to Sky's report, live coverage of defence witnesses won't be allowed (as opposed to prosecution ones).

However, cameras will not be able to film the 26-year-old Olympic champion, defence witnesses or anyone else who objects to being on camera.

How is that a fair visual representation of court proceedings?

Sky often gets things wrong, so it might not be true...

Its not just a well intentioned idea, its a fact

The fact that the prosecution wil be under scrutiny more seems to have bypassed you here LOL
