Looks like it has done the trick as the Labour pussies have backtracked on their agreement to support the government.   I cant see us winning any wars with the likes of Davy Milliband leading our once glorious country.  This has sent out the very worst message to Assad - Murder and kill all you want as nobody gives a f..k.

Cameron's probably secretly pleased they lost the vote, in that he won't be regarded as another Tony Blair if it all goes pear-shaped. The only victims will be Syria's innocent men, women and children killed and maimed, the euphemistic "collateral damage" of any bombing that'll take place.

Why doesn't he let the other EU nations take the lead instead of trying to emulate Churchill.. they're far too fond of interfering in our own internal affairs, let them meddle in somebody else's for a change...

So we should go to war against a country who has killed a few children. Then many, many times more innocent children will die as collateral damage in a war. How exactly does this make the situation any better? Parliament made absolutely the right decision (if not  for the wrong reasons-they feel if we did go to war and it ended up dragging on and resulting in the deaths of too many British servicemen it would make them unpopular).

Isn't it all a flimsy pretext to overthrow Assad and impose a friendly politician in Damascus so we can control their oil supply?

The Yanks have now sided with the French for a change, thank goodness... let's sit back and watch the fireworks.
You don't need to guess who the bulk of any rebuilding contracts will go to !

The best way they can get to Assad is to sequestrate his property in the West starting with his lavish pile in London.
