If you can't feed them, don't breed them.

Or is that too simplistic?

Yep too simplistic.....but then you really don’t believe it, do you ? It’s all about the reaction.

No I kind of do believe it.

Kids are expensive. I don't think poor people should be allowed to have them.
I stand with Putin. Glory to Mother Putin.

Very simplistic. there is not data to explain this 'food insecurity' situation. There has been an increase of child anxiety/depression. which has increased children presenting with eating disorders, which should not be included in figures- if they are any figures. If we know who and where these children are we can do something about it!

But all the left wing  socialist can do is talk about it and do nothing. Just point the finger and tut tut. The good news is more children are coming in to the country to add to the problem- take the food from the needy to give to the greedy. Refugee cake anyone?

And how much of it is down to ignorance and bad eating habits?  Increasingly I’m hearing about children who have never been offered a fresh fruit or vegetable in their lives but these things are not expensive!  It would certainly be interesting to know more about all tbe reasons why there are malnourished children in this country.  I suspect poor parenting and neglect and a lack of proper education about a healthy diet will be a part of the problem.

Stats from Foundations =noses in troughs=seeing public money=self serving lobbyists for more money.

The NHS send stats about all childrens welfare to government departments. There is no breakdown of the statistics- where did they come from?

The claim about it being due to families having no money to buy food is abhorant and incorrect.
Eggs, potatoes, flour, bread and fruit and  vegetables are all cheap and easy  to access. AND we have food banks for these so called 'starving'underfed children.

cheap shots. Perhaps those wonderful foundation 'workers' with a CEO, can work for free and give the money collected to these starving children they identify.  problem solved!  Next...

the stat people- plenty of them - hope they enjoy their lunch!

A freedom of information would have given better results!

Of course you do. You just do not have a come back to challenge my posts. And that is OK.

You make sweeping statements to decry a Government whom you hate -fair enough- but in doing that you are giving a limited snapshot without any depth to be discussed.

The government is NOT responsible for  malnourished children. Parents are, and also illness can play a part(Anorexia nervosa). You have no argument on this one either, what's new?

If you want to and can be bothered, back up your argument -go seek FOI from the hospitals and ask for a breakdown of the stats!  I bet the social work are involved with the issues of these children. School nurses are monitoring neglect and or abuse in schools!

Food poverty plays a major part in malnutrition. This is not about neglect and abuse.

Of course not the government is feeding poor kids throughout the Summer it will have to do so through every subsequent school holiday ad infinitum or risk being further maligned as wicked cruel child abusers.

Really?
let us put that to the test.

Myself ,husband and three children had this for food last Saturday.

Breakfast:  cereal-milk (£ 3.50) ,dollop of greek yogurt with strawberrys (tin)2.00                   cost £5.50
Lunch: home made carrot and coriander soup-home made bread with cheese  all ingredients   cost £2.60
Evening dinner, roast chicken,(4.50) cauliflower (95p) cheese sauce (home made)(cheese 1.50) lemon & parsley potatoes (75p loose)with peas (frozen bag for 1.20)

Total £17.00

The next day was left over day.
Breakfast used  from same cereal box, bought more milk 4 pt, used rest of yogurt with tin of pineapples

Lunch- used bones from chicken to make chicken sweetcorn soup with bread made on Sat.
Home made pancakes with home made jam

Supper Macaroni cheese(home made with same cheese block from sat) with onion topped with tomato and sweet potato (£1.00) chips (in oven)

Home made carrot cake using carrots from Saturday bag. lemon topping using greek yogurt.

No one was hungry. this is a family of 4. eating very well for two days! (My husband and I hate food wastage!)

Now if you spend your money on:

Packet of cigarettes? bingo? bookies?booze you will struggle to feed your family.

Home cooking- It is also a lot cheaper, and tastier than a gregs sausage roll and can of fizzy pop.

Your argument does not hold up. Malnutrition is all down to parental control of finances!
