"Condom Man"

According to reports, Luke's defence claims, his appeal etc. a condom was found with "fresh semen" in it near the body. Sandra Lean said on Twitter this was less than 20 yards away.

The man's name is available online and he was questioned after being identified three years later. I read online: "When questioned about why his DNA was found at a murder scene, he claimed that at the time he was sharing a room with a sibling so would masturbate in the woods for 'privacy'." This story does not sound plausible - why would he masturbate into a condom?

Is there a reason Condom Man (JF) wasn't a serious suspect?

‘The "condom connection" is interesting, given that the owner of the condom found leaking fresh semen at the crime scene on the morning of July 1st lied about where he got his condoms, for what, on the surface, appears to be no apparent reason - he falsely named a "friend" who had given him the condom he used that night. Unless, of course, he wanted to divert attention away from the person who had really given him condoms?
