This forum does not permit defamatory or libellous posting

It has been brought to our attention tonight that a member has claimed that there are defamatory and libellous posts within the forum relating to the McCanns.  We dispute this most most vehemently.  As a matter of policy, posts which are deemed to be unacceptable are deleted on sight.

We had an example recently where a member posted a copy of a post which had already been deleted some time earlier claiming that the original was still on the forum when it was not.  Such behaviour is time consuming and constitutes mischief making.   In future such conduct will result in sanctions.

Members are again reminded of their responsibilities which they accepted as a condition of joining this forum.  Anyone posting defamatory comments are solely responsible for such material.

Please be aware of this, if in doubt don't post it.

I am posting this message across several boards to ensure it is seen by members currently logged on.

I have observed an increase in the number of potentially defamatory posts being made by established members.  This conduct which constitutes a breach of forum rules must cease immediately.  As far too much editorial time is being taken up editing and removing these comments, the following rules will apply immediately.

* Any member who posts a libellous comment will face an instant 24 hour ban.
* Thereafter, all posts made by the offender will have to be pre authorised until
   such time as it is seen that they can abide by the forum rules.
* Repeated flaunting of forum rules will result in account deletion.

Could I add that spamming boards with mantra comments should also attract censure of some sort.  The constant we know who did it, we know who Smithman is, the paedo pyjama changer etc etc ... is not conducive to any discussion.  From now on I intend to take action against any goading, bad mouthing or any comments which are intended merely to mock others.

Despite being warned, members continue to flaunt forum rules in respect of inappropriate and potentially libellous comments.
