Trump apparently, is now beginning to renege on his promises.

The banning of Muslims coming into the country has been removed from his website.

After last night complaining about people demonstrating against him, he's now OK with it.

More to come.

I wonder how many of those who voted for his 'policies' will now be a bit angry he has changed his mind. &%+((£

Let's have a competition about how to respond to a criminal act.

Battery (throwing an object such as a tomato or egg which strikes someone) ?
Well remember your Prezzer, who had an egg lobbed at him by a "mullet", responded with rather a good left to the mullet's jaw and was following up with a right.
MY Prezzer?  What are you on about?  Oh, I get it - deflection.  Trump implores his supporters to knock out anyone seen chucking a tomato his way and because Prescott thumped someone who chucked an egg his way  and because he's a lefty that means I'm a hypocrite, so let's shift focus onto someone else and not the point we were discussing vis-a-vis Trump's incitement to violence.  Right, nice piece of twisting going on there.

FYI I am not an admirer of Prescott, or of his thuggish behaviour (though at least he fought his own aggressor rather than inciting others to do his dirty work for him, unlike your Christ and Saviour The Donald), nor FYI have I ever voted for Labour in my life.

Twist as much as you want, you ASKED for an example of Trump inciting violence and I GAVE you a crystal clear example of it.  At least have the good grace to acknowledge it without going off on some irrelevant tangent in an attempt to deflect - this thread is about Trump and what he has said and done and not Prescott, or any other politician for that matter.  Just because other politicians are stupid, mendacious, violent, lascivious etc, does not mean it's perfectly OK for The President Elect of the USA to be all those things, does it?

That is quite interesting, Stephen.  But then The Oval Office needs a make over.  It has been quite some time.

Into a Casino.

Meanwhile , more climb downs by Trump.

He will keep 'part' of Obama's healthcare.

What price his pledges ?

So yes, just another politician who breaks their word.

What exactly was Obama's health care?  I've never been able to quite fathom that.  Not that I have anything against Health Care.  Although I've been paying Insurance for that for years.  And I wouldn't swap that for The National Health Service.
It pays them to keep you alive here.

The healthcare system Eleanor was intended to provide for people who couldn't afford health insurance in the States, where many people were unable able to get medical aid when needed.

Personally, I have little regard for Obama, as he has continued largely to push the Bush line in foreign affairs, but when he tried to apply beneficial policies in America, he was blocked at every turn by the Republicans.

Ah, well, Trump shouldn't have that problem, being a Republican himself.  Gosh, haven't I done well.  I now have some small conception of what is going on in American Politics after many years of having absolutely no idea.  Although I still don't know which one is more to the Left.

In France, if you are poor then you get the best of Health Care anyway.  Mine failed to be entirely Free because I own my own house, although I am not sure why that should matter since the house earns me nothing, and my income is pathetic to say the least.  But I do get other periphery benefits that I don't even have to ask for.  They come by virtue of my Tax Return.

But America doesn't actually leave people dying, does it?  I really don't know.  Or is it just about dignity.  I don't have any dignity when it comes to need, although I still don't claim some things that I could get.  But then I don't have any real needs.

Trump is The President Elect, and he can't be any worse than Obama.  Such a disappointment he turned out to be.

This might throw light on the situation Eleanor.

But this doesn't answer my question.  Are they left to die?  I don't think so.  And if they are then this problem spans many generations of both Republicans and Democrats.

There are two sorts of Health Problems.  The essential and the non essential.  I could get a Bunion operation here if I wanted to.  Sorry, I can't think of anything more boring.  And I don't allow it to bother me anyway.

As for Cancer, you can stuff it.  I'm not having that.  And I am certainly not having my body bombarded with treatment that is likely worse than the disease itself.

I simply do not believe that America leaves it's poor to die unaided.  And nor will Donald Trump.

I suggest you research that.

I asked for no so such thing.
Throwing a tomato at someone is the crime of battery which you seem OK with but not OK with being decked for doing so.
We understand you do not like Donald Trump but he is President Elect of The United States of America a situation over which you have no control. It's immaterial whether you like it or not.

Will Trump set a new record?
"To date, no U.S. President has been removed from office by impeachment and conviction".

Will he even reach his inauguration?

I have to say that the exchange rate on my Basic State Pension has recovered somewhat.  I will likely only lose 50 Euros this month, as opposed to the 100 Euros I lost last month.  So thank you, Mr Trump.

PS.  Even 50 Euros loss is catastrophic.  !00 Euros was not funny at all.

It can't be easy Eleanor as thousands of retired Brits living abroad have found out.  Having a foot in both camps I don't know whether to laugh or to cry sometimes.  At least the pound has gone up from €1.11 to €1.16 as you report given recent events.
