Sir Mo Farah
« on: July 14, 2022, 11:32:15 AM »
I watched the programme about who Mo Farah really is and was fascinated. I totally sympathise with his situation and his reasons for ending up world famous using some else's name. The teacher who spotted his talent changed his life and enabled him to fulfill his potential, and his wife has been a tower of strength too. It's good to know no action will be taken against any of them.

I personally haven't read anything about him but his family in Somalia say that he is a liar and has misrepresented them to sell his story.

I haven't seen or heard anything about that, but I imagine there's a certain amount of panic by some who're involved in this story.

There is a certain sector of British sociey that have used Mo Farah’s revelation as an excuse to push for his deportation.  These are not very decent or reasonable people IMO.

There's no doubt in my mind that Mo Farah deserves to be left in peace.

Why would a senior moderator want to do that?

Well the two cases have nothing in common, so Myster's comment is completely off-topic imo.

The thing they have in common is that Mo Farah and the McCanns are public figures who have received hateful comments from some people for daring to put their heads above the parapet to discuss matters of injustice and victimhood that they have experienced.  I think Myster's point was that those individuals have a right to be left in peace and not bullied online by anonymous [ censored word ]s.  I may be wrong about his motives of course...

I think anyone who sees similarities has a very active imagination.
