Well, one things for sure, those children should NOT have been left alone. Had they been supervised by an adult, madeline would still be here.

Agreed. But it does not excuse attempting trial by forum exercised by the illiberal anti-Justice people in the AntiMcCann forums. The McCanns have faced no charges in neither the UK nor Portugal.

I've always wondered why these much-wanted, IVF children were left quite so often while their parents socialised and played sports. I suppose it's personal preference, but I find it puzzling and sad.

Different people have different relationships with children. Some parents believe that children should not get in the way of other parts of life. When my children were young enough, we booked them in to every activity and club available at the holiday site as at home they were always with one parent when not at nursery or school. Admittedly they were never left alone at that age, but it is important to realise that there are many ways of raising and loving children.

But the trip to Portugal was a family affair, why did they put their kids in a creche? It was their holiday too. I cant understand that, plus them being left alone. As shona said, parenting differences? I dont know.

AS I said, when on family holidays I booked our children into every activity club going believing that kids like to play with people their own age. It does not mean that the kids are unloved. Many families leave children unsupervised in hotel rooms with a listening system- I never would, but each to their own. There was nothing especially unusual about the McCanns' actions. We may disagree withtheir choices but that is what individual freedom is about. I despise boarding schools for young children AND parents who dominate and control their children. I have doubts about forcing religious beliefs on children AND about parents who over-protect them.

Having differing ideas about child rearing does not open up people to such accusations and criticisms by small minded people on insignificant websites.

Agreed, but it does not lead to a right for sad [ censored word ]s to accuse them of vile crimes.

You say:

"The scent of a DEAD BODY was found in their apartment"

Cite please or we shall have to call it a myth.

Did NEGLECT or something SINISTER cause Madeleine's Disappearance? (Updated)

The moment you start quoting 'The Sun', is the moment I decide that you are not worth listening to.
I watched the Portugese made documentary, that the McCanns 'desperatley didn't want us to see'. What a crock of shit.

Why would they have kept Maddie hidden for 20 odd days before moving her in the hire car?

Now to the biggest myth of all.

ABDUCTION.

There was no plant growth on the window sill.  Many, many photographs show that it was perfectly clean.  Not in itself important, but why tell lies about it as though this proves that there was no abductor?

RE Abduction: there is no evidence to prove abduction or death or any other criminal outcome.

Perhaps what people struggle with is the concept of leaving three very small children alone in an apartment, even if they were being checked on at regular intervals. There are so many hazards - electrical sockets, hot taps, cutlery, windows...even abduction. I possibly am being small-minded, but I will never understand why an intelligent couple took such a risk. IMO, if the McCanns wanted a "grown-up" holiday, they should have left the children at home with a family member.

Most people agree that the McCanns were culpable in their childcare. That does not excuse the forums full of false assertions, myths, misinterpretations and some downright lies aimed at an extra-judicial kangaroo court on the internet.

Many thousands of people do exactly the same thing that the McCann's did and took a chance while the kids slept.  In hindsight it was a risk and it backfired according to some, to others there is a more sinister reason.

Whatever the cause of Madeleine's disappearance we do agree that evidence is severely limited.
