Well, Innocent Until Proven Guilty, as they say in France.  Not so sure about Portugal, but there you go.  But as far as I have seen, there hasn't been that much Media Coverage of this, which only makes me wonder why.  So thanks for that, Misty.

There has been some, but not of the type likely to be translated.

I have no doubt we will hear the end result when it happens.  And then he's got another Trial to follow.

No, he wasn't. Cristóvão left the PJ - or had been invited to choose a different career - at the beginning of 2007.
His book on Joana (which preceded the Maddie one) was launched at the beginning of September 2007.

I've read the summary of his book on Joana... It bears little relationship to the so-called facts in the rulings, and I suspect that most of it was made up.

01.04.2016 18:24 Parker Christopher begins to be tried in June 17 other people will also be judged.

The former Judicial Police Inspector Paulo Pereira Cristóvão and 17 other defendants being tried in June, in a process related to violent assaults to residences, in the Lisbon District and on the South Bank of the Tagus River. The first session of the trial, which will take place on Wednesdays, is scheduled for June 01, at 9:30, in Central Lisbon Criminal Instance, Judge 23, on the Campus of Justice, being already marked hearings until July 06, advanced today to the agency Lusa judicial source.

Some of the defendants requested the opening of arraignment, but a judge Carlos Alexander ruled everyone involved to go to trial for the crimes of which they were accused by prosecutors, including criminal association, theft, kidnapping, possession of a prohibited weapon, abuse of power, violation of domicile by employee and document forgery. The decision rules to take the 18 defendants on trial, of which part three agents of the public security police and the cheerleader leonina Juve Leo, known for ' Mustafa ', was taken on November 16 last year. According to the Decree of accusation of Central Department of Investigation and Prosecution (DCIAP), the former PJ Inspector, two other defendants and the three policemen collected information and decided that people and places to rob the group.

I believe he's due to be sentenced on 22nd April for his part in the Sporting Lisbon corruption case.

Thanks for the update, Misty.
It will be interesting to see how seriously Justice considers the offences committed in the Sporting Lisbon case to be with the severity or not of the sentence.

The accusations in the forthcoming trial are every bit as shocking if not more so, when one considers the unique position of trust held by this man.
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....
