I thought this a more fitting place to start this .. There were several Memorials and Prizes dedicated to the memory of Joanna Yeates... Did they all materialize?? And are they all still maintained ???

Here are The winners of The  Jo Yeates Landscape Design Prize which BDP have commissioned ..

2011:

Jane Fitzgerald White works as an assistant landscape architect in Bristol.  In 2011, she received the Jo Yeates Landscape Design Prize,

2012: Winner ?????? Just found her...

Vanessa Powell, a Landscape Architecture Conversion student here and currently studying for her Masters, won the Jo Yeates Landscape Design Prize last year. This is the prize awarded by BDP in memory of Jo Yeates, a former student here who died tragically in Bristol a few years ago. The prize is for the best overall design portfolio of the year and the winner recieves money to spend exploring an aspect of Landscape Architecture they feel passionate about. The winner is then asked to present their findings at the opening of the Landscape Architecture End of Year Show to the university as well as BDP. Vanessa won the prize in 2012 and presented at the 2013 End of Year Show.
A bit slack at presenting?? They presented it to her the day before they presented Michael Bedore with His Prize..

Jo Yeates is set to be honoured with a permanent memorial on the site of her final work project. The NHS trust behind the private finance project has said it intends to mark Jo's work with a memorial garden at the hospital.

Did this ever materialise??

Looking for the Garden for Joanna yeates ........

A medical day garden has also been set up outside the building to provide a therapeutic outdoor space for patients.

Sculptural screens have been created by Jacqueline Poncelet and are set up alongside seats within the garden to give patients somewhere to sit and appreciate the garden. The screens depict a pattern of gingko leaves - known for its medicinal properties.

Also in the medical day garden is a stone water feature sculpted by artist Peter Randall. A boulder sculpted to create a ripple effect is set within a circle of pebbles.

Cannot find a mention of her when the Southmead Hospital's Brunel building has been open for a year..

BDP had the contract in 2009.. so I would have thought that this "Garden" or something In Joanna yeates memory would be there??

Fitting tribute: Friends and colleagues of Jo Yeates visit Hillier Gardens and Arboretum, close to her family home in Ampfield, Hants to see the unveiling of a new memorial garden opened in her memory

I've looked on their website and cannot find anything at https://www.hants.gov.uk/thingstodo/hilliergardens/explorethegardens

But I cannot see this garden... Is it private ????

Friends and former colleagues of Jo came together to design the special memorial at the Sir Harold Hillier Gardens and Arboretum, close to her family home in Ampfield, Hants.
The garden has a butterfly-inspired wooden bench with a paved area in the shape of the insect's wing.

Annual design prize to be set up in landscape architect’s memory

BDP’s Bristol studio has announced a series of memorials for their late colleague Joanna Yeates, who was found dead on Christmas Day.

Studio head Keith Pavey said a small garden of remembrance would be created at the office where the landscape architect worked, as well as a book of remembrance which would include an anthology of her work.

The practice will also sponsor an annual landscape design prize in her memory for students at the University of Gloucestershire School of Landscape & Environment.

And a sponsored cycle ride between BDP’s offices will be dedicated to her, with all proceeds being donated to charities chosen by Joanna’s parents and boyfriend. The ride is planned to take place in late spring as one of several events to mark BDP’s 50th anniversary.

Pavey said: “It is now over seven weeks since Jo was so tragically taken from us and it is still difficult to come to terms with her untimely and unnecessary death.

“We have been overwhelmed by the many messages of condolence and sympathy we have received from our clients and colleagues in the construction industry.

“We will not forget Jo and we hope these things will collectively become a lasting tribute to her.”

Last month the client of the last project Joanna worked on - Southmead Hospital in Bristol - said it was considering incorporating a memorial into the gardens she was involved in designing.

No more updates on this prize that apparently is given yearly in memory of Joanna Yeates..

BDP too appear to have Forgotten that Their Cycle race was in Memory Of Joanna Yeates only the year before and do not give her a mention...

CYCLE RIDE FROM EDINBURGH TO LONDON FOR MISSING PEOPLE
14/06/2012

Quote
Following the success of our Cycle for Jo relay across the UK, Ireland and the Netherlands last May, BDP has maintained a strong relationship with Missing People by continuing to raise funds through various events.  In April, BDP’s Caroline Stassen, Poppy Emuss and Barney Bonner completed the London marathon and taking on this cycle challenge are Phil Gray and Scott McNeely.  We are also redesigning the offices of Missing People as a donation led project using our skills and expertise, with the help of our colleagues in the industry.

I would have thought a mention would be appropriate as apparently it was done in her honour...

BDP CYCLISTS SET OFF IN AID OF UK CHARITIES
06/05/2011

Quote
BDP - the UK’s leading interdisciplinary design practice - launched ‘Cycle for Jo’ a fundraising challenge in honour of the landscape architect from BDP’s Bristol studio, Jo Yeates, who went missing and was tragically found dead on Christmas Day.

How did BDP forget so soon Joanna Yeates after they said they launched "Cycle for Jo".. In Joanna Yeates honour??  That is a little disrespectful...

Thought I'd just pop the url on for the tweet leonora and screen shot the tweet...  As we know the tiny url  http://bit.ly/nRNgol
doesn't work anymore... why remove such a page that is supposed to be a memorial to Joanna Yeates..!

Is this the tweet that they talked about???  The one that was prejudicial to the trial??  Even if it wasn't the one they talked about the timing makes it prejudical (imo)...

Wish I had seen what it said on the page...!!

The jury had been sworn in on the 6th October 2011 and instructed not to do research on the case... Nothing about a tweet such as this that would appear harmless!!

Quote
He reminded the jury he had instructed them not to read the reporting of the trial or do any of their own research on it. He has also told them not to view discussions on social network sites about the case. The judge said these instructions were of the "utmost importance" and any breach of his directions could lead to them being in contempt of court.

Well the tweet from the Landscape Institute is not a discussion... Yet easily draws the jury to have information at hand about the short life of Joanna Yeates..

The jury could have easily read twitter and comments made... They just weren't allowed to read any reporting... Twitter is hardly a forum!

Did the Jury read twitter comments???

Edit... Are tweets classed as reports ??

Now this article describes the tweets as a blog... Where the jury allowed to read a blog??

Quote
Julia Reid, a Sky correspondent who tweeted from court, said she found it a challenge to judge how much of this material to tweet. "If you're doing a live blog, how much should you edit what you're feeding?" she said. Should it all be thrown in, or do you have to be mindful that young people might be following you?

Yes Julia... I think feeding Is the operative word!!

So were they allowed to read twitter as it isn't classed as an online discussion!!
