Fine. I don't think it's self evident that it's plausible and logical that she was 'lost in the river' just because she had problems.
I didn’t say that though did I?  It‘s been the most plausible and logical scenario for some weeks now.  No evidence of foul play, no evidence she left the field, went missing next to a river which has claimed other lives over the years.  Why is it not the most plausible and logical explanation?  You must have one far more plausible which you are busting a gut to share, I can’t possibly imagine what it is but let’s hope you manage to keep it to yourself.

I don't know how her problems affected her, although the police clearly did as they were called out on a previous occasion. Whatever they knew seems to have influenced their choice of the hypothesis they formed.

And it's a good example of how police often keep back information in their investigations which mean that internet sleuths nearly always have an incomplete understanding of the facts.  A salient lesson to all those who have enjoyed speculating over the last few weeks.

There is still an incomplete understanding.

Police recover body from river near where mum of two went missing

Police searching for missing mum of two Nicola Bulley have recovered a body from the river near to where she went missing.

"We were called today at 11:36am to reports of a body in the River Wyre, close to Rawcliffe Road," Lancashire Police said in a statement.

"An underwater search team and specialist officers have subsequently attended the scene, entered the water and have sadly recovered a body.

"No formal identification has yet been carried out, so we are unable to say whether this is Nicola Bulley at this time.

"Procedures to identify the body are ongoing. We are currently treating the death as unexplained.

"Nicola's family have been informed of developments and our thoughts are with them at this most difficult of times. We ask that their privacy is respected."

Earlier, a road was cordoned off along the River Wyre in St Michael's on Wyre, Lancashire, as was a footpath.

The area has been the focus of an intensive search operation since Ms Bulley, 45, was last seen at about 9.10am on 27 January while walking her dog.

Sky News correspondent Inzamam Rashid said the helicopter was in the air for about 25 minutes.

A police drone has also been in use.

So about a mile away from where she went missing.  What has that knowitall expert Peter Faulding got to say for himself now?

"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

Sadly the police working hypothesis that she fell in and drowned seems to have been the right one.

It was the most plausible, logical explanation.  My heart goes out to her family who have gone through hell these last three weeks, not helped by the repulsive activities of amateur sleuths and internet trolls.

The body is confirmed as Nicola’s.  Her family have just released a most scathing attack on the media and the internet ghouls and armchair detectived who have cumulatively added an extra layer of pain and upset to their overwhelming loss.  One could really feel their agony and rage in that statement.

“We will never be able to comprehend what Nikki had gone through in her last moments and that will never leave us.

"We will never forget Nikki, how could we, she was the centre of our world, she was the one who made our lives so special and nothing will cast a shadow over that.

"Our girls will get the support they need from the people who love them the most.

"And it saddens us to think that one day we will have to explain to them that the press and members of the public accused their dad of wrongdoing, misquoted and vilified friends and family. This is absolutely appalling, they have to be held accountable this cannot happen to another family.

"We tried last night to take in what we had been told in the day, only to have Sky News and ITV making contact with us directly when we expressly asked for privacy. They again, have taken it upon themselves to run stories about us to sell papers and increase their own profiles. It is shameful they have acted in this way. Leave us alone now."
