I Was a Paid Internet Shill

We sat down at his desk and he began by asking me a few questions about myself and my background, including my political views (which were basically non-existent). Then he began to explain the job. “We work on influencing people’s opinions here,” is how he described it. The company’s clients paid them to post on Internet message boards and popular chartrooms, as well as in gaming forums and social networks like Facebook and MySpace. Who were these clients? “Oh, various people,” he said vaguely. “Sometimes private companies, sometimes political groups.”

If a poster wrote something close to “X,” we were supposed to respond with something close to “Y.” “You have to mix it up a bit, though,” said my trainer. “Otherwise it gets too obvious. Learn to use a thesaurus.” This section also contained a number of hints for de-railing conversations that went too far away from what we were attempting. These strategies included various forms of personal attacks, complaining to the forum moderators, smearing the characters of our opponents, using images and icons effectively, and even dragging the tone of the conversation down with sexual innuendo, links to pornography, or other such things. “Sometimes we have to fight dirty,” or trainer told us. “Our opponents don’t hesitate to, so we can’t either.”

Always listen to both sides of the story before you judge.

The first storyteller you will always find has modified the story, for there benefit BE WISE.

do you read any other articles on this site...here's a excerpt from one...

Are you ready to chew bubblegum and kick ass? One of the biggest advantages the Reptilians and occult controllers of this planet have over us is the ability to use illusion while being hidden in another dimensional frequency. How effective would their domination and control plan be if the veil was lifted like in the movie

IMO, it is absolutely reasonable to assume this may be the case. There is nothing sinister in this, in the modern world we live in - it's just part of the game nowadays imo. Of course, it has a ring of phoniness about it, but if you hire a top PR firm and in a case like this I imagine it might be part of the package. I've worked in advertising and PR for a long time, but not in this kind of PR admittedly and know to some extent what goes on behind the scenes.

Yep an assumption and hence the IMOs and of course it being an assumption I admit I may be wrong too. PR is not a gentlemen's game and if I were the McCann's agent I would use every tactic at my disposal in what some on here and I assume you Dave would agree is a propaganda war? I don't think it is a negative thing necessarily - it can be perceived as simply fighting your corner.

Do you really think its necessary on a forum with only 20 regular posters... and no one is going to change their mind. What sort of propaganda war is it when the vast majority of the public know nothing about amaral..the trial..the book...the files

Then I guess it's absolutely reasonable to assume that Amaral has paid shills, and the abductor too maybe...   &%+((£

Thinking about it I absolutely would not do it. One it isn't necessary and two the fallout if it was ever discovered would be horrendous...and after 8 yrs it would have been discovered...so on that basis..it aint happened...imo

Don't you know?  The general public logs on here avidly in their millions to catch up on the fascinating debate between the sceptics and the shills, that's what we're all here for isn't it?

Don't know. 20 regular posters with usually 60-80 people logged in at any one time. Add into this people linking to this site from twitter, facebook, blogs etc and the audience is a lot wider. You make a good point though - if you were going to use resources effectively facebook, newspapers etc would be a more effective strategy. And yeah noone really apart from those like us who took an interest know the whole story.

I'd say it's unlikely unless he has a PR firm in his employ?
