I never have been sure about Jimmy Savile.  If he had been sent to trial I suspect he would have been acquitted.  There were far too many false accusation for a start.

Many people came forward after his death but a huge amount made complaints at the time going back decades. Those complaints were ignored. brushed aside.

The true level or not of his offending will never be truly known

I was speaking to a man who had a Sister in Stoke Mandeville when when Savile was there. She told him what was going on and begged to be removed. The lady is dead now but the Brother is haunted by it all
