Calpol is often given to children at bedtime to reduce temperature and reduce pain and aid in going to sleep. It is even possible Calpol becomes a conditioned reflex to get kids to sleep hence the calpol generation. All IMO but one that many people would recognise.

What is this Calpol Generation...12 million bottles sold per year...is that about one per child per year...are you a parent. ...Calpol was the medicine of choice for pain and temperature...I have seen no real evidence of it being misused...

Can you expand on the " Calpol generation"
Is there some research into this, having had children in the seventies and grand children in the late nineties and early
years of the millennium it's not an expression that I am familiar with.
Some explanation of this phrase would be helpful.

There seems to be some kind of arcane inverse rule operating here re children's response to a dose of Calpol v some adults response to talking about a childs reaction to Calpol.
Give a kid calpol and they cease to have a mardy.
Talk about it and some adults have a severe mardy !?

If you don’t think there are a signifant number of kids who get a dose of calpol when they are restless/under the weather to help them sleep, that is your prerogative. To suggest that newspapers produce articles that reflect the opinions of half a dozen people is odd to say the least.

The only interesting thing here is innocent incrimination....an innocent remark used as evidence of guilt

IMO, there is an inference when Calpol is mentioned with regard to this case and that is why it keeps cropping up.
