Should the Conservatives Change it’s Mind on Free School Meal Vouchers ?

While both Scotland and Wales will be providing free meals for children over the summer holidays the Conservative government in England refuses to change it’s position. Is that position now untenable ?

I think this has to be the shortest thread ever on the MoJ forum as it would appear that Johnson as changed his mind and children in need will now get free meal vouchers. Well done Marcus Rashford.

Some of Those children who qualify for free meals,are some of the most vulnerable children who's parents are under social care- the extra money always goes on drink drugs cigarettes etc..

It is truely heart breaking.

My POINT- not that I need to explain to you is- will the MOST VULNERABLE children who desperately need the meals actually get it. VS made the point about how would they get this food.  I Added my concern.

But as usual to make a  shoddy political point, you are trying to make it look as if we don't want the English children to have the same treatment- or supported the government in with holding the funds.

As far as I’m aware parents will get a voucher lasting 6 weeks which they can spend in supermarkets.

And while I’m very unhappy with any child being the victim of their parent’s addictions that is no reason to punish other vulnerable families by denying them support.

The voucher should only be valid to spend on vegetables (fresh, frozen and timned) , fruit, nuts, unprocessed meat and fish, brown bread, pulses and limited dairy produce.  IMO.

I never asked the others to be punished and denied support. Those being fed are not my concern- I already said what my concern was. As a humanitarian I am correct to be concerned.
