If the Sun can call Amaral a poisonous liar then there should be no concern on this forum if any of us choose to refer to him in these terms, right?

You can say what the Sun said. Stating it yourself, no.

If that headline calling him a "Poisonous Liar" is seen today by a vast number of the UK public, not only those who buy the paper but by many who will scan the headlines of all newspaper, why  cannot that same opinion be expressed here?
Interested to know why.

Will it? He will lose most of his money, and might not care any more.  But then neither will The McCanns,

What money do you thing he is going to lose?

Do we really need to?  I would prefer that we didn't.

You could be right.  But only according to The Rules of this Forum.

I’m more interested in the views of the mod who seems a little inconsistent in the application of the rule on this forum, no offence to you or the skin on your nose like.

I don't know, Jassi.  This whole thing has always been a bit beyond my comprehension.

I wouldn't use the description printed today in the Sun, but neither would I agree with your description of him.

No need to apologise, Erngath.  I made a statement that you don't agree with.  Good for you.

Amaral's finances won't be affected by any ruling made by the ECHR.

It's not the first time compensation has been mentioned, perhaps there's some underlying truth? I don't know about Portuguese law, but in the UK compensation can be ordered if a freezing injunction has been imposed on someone.

As the McCanns froze Amaral's assets for eight years there could be some compensatory payment due to him for that, I suppose.

Have his assets been unfrozen.... It's coming up to 2 years since the verdict
