I thought she got louder.......

Madeleine McCann’s mother screamed, “the f....ing b......s have taken her”

John Hill, the Mark Warner resort manager, came up to the veranda behind our apartment. I remember screaming at him to do something. ‘Where are the police?’ I yelled at him. [madeleine]
Correct on both accounts.  Someone had taken her (Mark Rowley said she has been abducted)  and why had JH delayed in calling the police?

Who says John Hill delayed calling the police Rob?  He doesn't even say he called them.

With regard to the facts of the investigation. Statements show that he knew of these facts by means of a phone call from Lindsay, head of the child care service, who told him about a female child staying at the resort who had disappeared. This phone call was made to the deponent's mobile phone at about 22.28 on 03-05-2007. About 5 minutes later the deponent presented himself at the resort, because Lindsay had told him that she had initiated the procedure for missing children used by the company and the child had not been found. Upon arriving at the scene he saw about 100 people, employees, guests and residents searching the grounds, the beach and adjoining areas calling out the child's name.

Initially the deponent thought that the child had got lost or disorientated, but as the searches did not produce any results he became increasingly worried.
-
The deponent went to the main reception to see if the authorities had been alerted, and fifteen minutes later went to the apartment being used by the McCanns, where he saw that both members of the couple were in a panic and were shouting that the child had been taken. The deponent thinks that the GNR arrived at the scene at about 22.45, however in a conversation several weeks later, he heard someone say, he doesn't remember whom, that they had arrived at about 23.30, but as he was so busy he declared that he had no notion of the passage of time

Sunny there is a thread discussing when the Police arrived and what police arrived at 11:30 PM?

JH has just admitted he is having trouble remembering, so to me his evidence has just been shot to pieces by his own admission.

Apologies Rob. Could you point me in the direction of the thread please?

"Who, when were Police called to OC? When did they arrive? incl GNR PJ & Interpol"

I was about half way finished this thread and we had to explore the ideas of where were the twins moved to and later who moved them and then how long did the PJ stay.

I prefer to start a new thread on each topic rather than have other topics covered within a thread as this is a research project to me.    So there has been criticism that I'm "starting too many threads on related topics" but how else can it be done?

If we were to look at the references to the police being called before Kate's alarm then you might understand why I say John Hill delayed in calling the police, it was more he okayed his staff to call the police at 10:41

Thank  you Rob for the link. I have read it all again although I didn't find much about John Hill calling the police.

You may be right that he gave the OK to call the police at 10.41 but he had only heard about a child going missing at 10.28. Add 5 minutes to get to the Ocean Club making 10.33 before he could even get to grips what has happened. So within 9 minutes of arrival he had ascertained that the missing child case was serious enough to warrant the police being called and you call that a delay?

Sunny - I think we are all a bit drained  by the case.  Now that the OG has been stopped and the case somewhat mothballed, I think we all need a break for a while.
I feel a bit drained to be honest even though I haven't come to a final conclusion.

And work out how they all can be wrong?  If they are not wrong what was really going on?

Rob, I think you have seen this as it was on another thread but apparently the police were called prior to John Hill's arrival at the Ocean Club, or at least as far as John Hill was told anyway.

He knows about the situation that happened at the Ocean Club concerning the disappearance of a little given that on the day in question (03/05/2007) he was on duty and was contacted by a member of staff from the Tapas Restaurant between 09.30 and 22.00 who informed him that the daughter of some guests who were dining there had disappeared.

That he immediately contacted the GNR in Lagos, shortly after this the child’s father and John Hill arrived at the reception and he phoned the GNR again.

Has Operation Grange been stopped?  I was unaware of this.

I have not confirmed it myself but  I read reports that references and contact details to OG were removed from the SY website.   I took that as true.
