Do you remember Whitsuntide, we would all get new clothes and show them off to the neighbours. People dont do Whitsun anymore, was quite big in the 70's when i was a kid.

I can!  I love Christmas as much as anyone, but I hate the cynicism that the retailers display when they have all their old tat out on display by the middle of October and then they're all packed up by Christmas Eve.  It's the same old story...it's always the greedy b........s who take the fun out of everything.

I can't listen to any Christmas songs before December.

I love the build up and all the decorations and shopping - the day is always a bit of a let down because after that, it's over and I never want it to be over!! Perhaps a Santa emoticon is in order?
