JonBenet had other damage to her head made by the killer.

EXTERNAL EVIDENCE OF INJURY:

Located just below the right ear at the right  angle of the mandible, 1.5 inches below the  right external auditory canal is a 3/8 x 1/4 inch  area of rust colored abrasion.
At the tip of the right temporal lobe is a one- quarter by one quarter inch similar appearing  purple contusion. Only very minimal  contusion is present at the tip of the left  temporal lobe.
This area of contusion  measures only one-half inch in maximum  dimension.

Fireplace Log Grabber found next to Jonbenet body in the door way.

The tips of a fireplace log grabber can  produce these marks.
The tool is made of  iron materials and may leave a rust color  imprint on the skin.
The shape of the tip may  match the external injury evidence.
The tool was found on the damp wine cellar floor.

What was the weather like that day? Bould police said there was no foot prints in the snow so it must be a inside job.

Lets look at this closer and you will see what happen in Boulder that week.

Boulder Weather 1996

Boulder Daily Weather Data Temperatures are in degrees Fahrenheit Precipitation, snowfall and snow depth are in inches Max and min temperatures are for the 6pm-6pm time period.

Dec 1996
Day         High T         Low T        Precip.         Snow       Snow Depth
25th           54               24                0                 0                   T

26th           51               6                  0                 T                   0

No snow that week, and just a mist Christmas night. The facts are there was no snow on most of the Ramsey's yard. This means that any one could walk up to the how and not leave any tracks because there was no snow. Only old snow in a small part of the front yard. Poor information put out by Boulder police to the public.

The temperature that morning was 9 degrees.
A light dusting of snow had fallen and frost had formed during the late night  am hours and it lay on top of an earlier crusty snow in spotty patches on the grass outside the front of the house.
There  was plenty of time for a killer to come and go that night with out leaving any foot prints in the front yard snow.
There were  many snow cleared side walks located in front, back and sides of the house that the killer could easily use to exit the  property and with out leaving any foot impressions on the side walks that next morning.

12/25/1996

-  5:00 pm
The Ramsey’s went to the home of family friends, Fleet and Priscilla White, for Christmas dinner.
The Whites lived a mile away.
(The killer had 1 hour 14 min. to enter the house in the full cover of darkness that evening as  the family left for the Christmas dinner.) 9:00 pm
The Ramsey’s left the Whites' house, delivering Christmas gifts to two families, the Walkers and the Stines, on the  way home.  9:30 pm
The Ramsey’s arrived home.
They said JonBenét had fallen asleep in the car.
Without waking her, John said he  carried her upstairs and Patsy prepared her for bed. John said Burke and he worked downstairs on Burke's new model.
10:00 pm John and Patsy said they went to bed, as did Burke.
This is the last time they saw JonBenét alive, asleep in her  bed.

We can profile the killer and how he would have acted that week.

Profile of JonBenet's Killer.

Second, the killer displayed certain characteristics both before and after the murder.
Our experts say that no one characteristic points  to the killer, but that we must look to the totality of his behavior.
Prior to the crime, the killer was likely to have exhibited certain behaviors.

Perhaps you know someone who was experiencing one of  the following shortly before JonBenét was murdered:

•Conflict with a female

•Conflict with family

•Financial stress

•Marital problems

•Legal problems

•Employment problems

Did that person then suffer a traumatic event, such as the break-up of an important relationship, loss of a job, or some other disruption  in his life that could have triggered violent behavior?
Did that person express hostility and anger at either of us or our family?
Was he  depressed, perhaps using drugs or alcohol?
After JonBenét's murder, the killer would have, once again, been likely to have behaved in certain ways.
Keeping in mind the pre-crime  behaviors, did that person perhaps also:

•Establish an obvious alibi

•Appear very cooperative with the authorities

•Closely monitor media accounts of the crime

•Appear extremely rigid, nervous and preoccupied during general conversation

•Find a legitimate reason to leave the area days or weeks after the crime, perhaps saying it was work-related or personal travel

•Suddenly become religious

•Increase his alcohol or drug consumption

•Experience depression

•Suffer insomnia

We have other profiles on the killer.

A white tent cord was used to kill JonBenet.

Braided Nylon Cord.

The cord found tied loosely around the right wrist after the father tried  to remove the cord, overlying the sleeve of the shirt is a white cord. At  the knot there is one tail end which measures 5.5 inches in length with  a frayed end. The other tail of the knot measures 15.5 inches in length  and ends in a double loop knot. This end of the cord is also cut and  frayed.   Wrapped around the neck with a double knot in the midline of the  posterior neck is a length of white cord similar to that described as  being tied around the right wrist.

The so called garrote was consisted of a wooden paint stick handle  fashioned from the middle section of a paintbrush, the other end was  found in a paint tray in the boiler room hall way. One end of a nylon  cord was tied to this wooden stick as a handle and, on the other end,  was a loop with a slipknot, with JonBenet's neck held within the loop.

The pointed end was broken off the paintbrush handle that was used to  construct the garrote  and was never found.

Fibers consistent with those of the cord used to make the slip knots and  garrote were found on JonBenet's bed.

The cord used was traced to Stansport; it comes in 50' and 100' cord  lengths.

The two cut cords before they were cut would add up to 96 inches long of eight feet.

The killer left clues before the crime.

Did the killer disable the light post so he could  monitor the house from the sun room before the  Ramsey came home that Christmas night?
The sun  room would provide a good location to monitor the  house and the neighborhood from one location with  out being seen with the light out.

Light Post was disabled

"As the police search the house, other police fanned  out to canvass the neighborhood and conduct more  interviews.
A resident directly to the south reported  that the light pole was off in the southeast corner near  the sun room of the Ramsey home and thought that  was odd because it was the only time she was aware  in the past few years that it was not on all night.
A  neighbor to the north would say that the butler kitchen  lights were on around midnight and considered that  unusual since it was the first time he had noticed that  light being on in the Ramsey home.
A third neighbor,  to the west, said that her dogs, who would barked at  anyone walking through the alleyway, just as they did  when the police officer came to question her, made  no noise Wednesday night that she could remember."

If the killer exited the Ramsey house from the side yard Butler   kitchen door to the alleyway, he would of turn left  at the drive  way because the neighbor’s dogs to the right did not barked.

How did the killer of JonBenet leave the Ramsey's property that early morning?

The "butler's" door was found open the morning of the murder, outside near by they found an unsourced baseball bat that had  fibers on it consistent with those found in the basement near by where JonBenet's body was found. This door was located on  the North Side of the house next to the cut thought path that the killer may have used.

The neighbors had to call police many times to give their tips, some took over a year to be put into the police file. If it did not support the Ramsey's did it, it was not importance to the case. The police look at the family as the persons of interest.

Our lab's notes of the neighborhood.

Alleyway Between 15th and 14th Streets

Neighborhood Property Facts:
15th street is 610 feet long.
The side walks are 5’-0” wide on each side of 15th street.
The Ramsey house is located 245 feet from Cascade st. The Ramsey house is located 365 feet from Baseline Rd. From the center of 15th street to the alleyway is 170 feet.
The North side neighbor house is 28 feet apart.
The North East neighbor house is 130 feet apart.
The East side neighbor house is 136 feet apart.
The South East neighbor house is 148 feet apart.
The South side neighbor house is 60 feet apart.
The alleyway West side neighbor house is 98 feet apart.
From 15th street to 14th street is located 345 feet apart.
The alleyway is listed as 15 feet wide.
The kitchen door to the closes neighbor house is 88 feet.
The single 15 feet wide alleyway is design for two way traffic.
Fences and trees line the 610 feet long alleyway.
There are no street lights installed for dark nights.
The only good place for a walker to cut through from 15th street to the alleyway  is located at 755 15th street at the North side of the property line.

The killer may have use the alleyway in this crime.

How fast would the killer need to walk away from the crime?

1 Mile = 5280 Feet.

The killer could cut through the yard’s north  property line from 15th street to the alley in just  23 seconds.
He then could walk toward Cascade  Ave in 33 seconds or walk toward Baseline Rd in  50 seconds.
From Ramsey house to Cascade Ave is 345 feet. or Ramsey house to Baseline Rd is 365 feet.
From the alleyway, there were many ways to exit  the street.
On the 25th, at 5:00 pm, a male person was  seen walking up to the house from 15th street at  the North property line cut through.

Walking From Alleyway To 15th Street

Cascade Ave. to Baseline Rd is 610 Feet
The average person walks between 2-4 mph, dependent on their build and  length of legs.
It also depends on their enthusiasm.
Some mothers will  walk about 5 mph when they are shopping.
Walking speed depends greatly on how fit someone is, and also on height,  weight, age, the terrain they are walking on, and many other factors.
However the average speed a person walks is about 3 miles per hour.
3-3.5 MPH Most people walk at a pace of 3 to 3.5 miles per hour.
Four miles per hour is a brisk walk. At about 6 miles per hour, one is jogging. Over a sustained distance, like a marathon, 12 miles/hr is a world-record  pace.

The killer’s estimated walking speed was base at 5 mph.

Multiply the speed in mph by 5,280 feet per mile.
The result is the speed in  feet per hour.
Then Divide by 60 = feet per minute and then divide by 60 =  feet per second.
5 mph X 5,280 = 26,400 / 60 = 440 / 60 = 7.3333 feet per second.
The killer will walk the 610 feet alleyway in just 83 seconds or 1 minute 23  seconds.
The alleyway was very dark and line by trees and fences.

The killer took a 12 inch paint brush from a tote full of paint brushes and made a handle to kill JonBenet. This paint tote was in a basement hall way next to the door where JonBenet was killed.

Paint Brush Stick

Broken to Size - Fat - Cat’s Tongue - Paint Brush

A filbert is a flat brush but it has a chiseled rounded edge instead of a straight one.
Sort of like a cat’s tongue.
When you look at the brush from the chiseled edge, the  hairs should form an even oval edge.
As a tool for base coating, these types of paint brushes can't be beat!
The shape of  the hairs eliminates ridges.
It can be used for side-loading similarly to a flat brush to  create shades and highlights.
It's also used for blending.
And because it can hold a fair amount of water, it’s also  great for applying washes of color.
And lastly, because of its shape it’s perfectly  suited for doing leaves, flower petals and bird feathers.

The killer broke off both ends of the paint brush stick.
The broken center section was   the same size as the black marker uses to print the ransom note.
By Design. ( About  5 Inches).
The 12 inch long brush was broken to a 5 inch piece and the brush hair  end was 3 1/2 inches and place back in the tote.
The small pointed end was also 3  1/2 inches in length and was never found at the crime scene.
Testing the wood  fibers found near the tote has shown that the tip end was use on JonBenet in this  crime.
There were other paint brushes in the paint tote that was 5 inches in size but  the killer pick this large paint brush and broke it to size. The 1/2 inch diameter paint  stick would be hard to break by hands for most people.
Testing shows us that the 5  inch stick had other uses in this crime.
A nylon cord was ties to the center of the 5  inch stick.

The small pointed tip end of the broken brush was never found.

JonBenet and Patsy set up a make shift paint studio in the butler kitchen that year. They like to paint pictures together. Jonbenet may have been killed with the paint stick she use just days before the crime.
Did the killer watch them paint in the butler kitchen before the crime?

A neighbor heard a child scream after midnight on the  25th. Many people think this could have been JonBenet  just outside the butler door or in the basement.

Window / Vent Pipe On 15th Street Side:

On the front side of the house was a basement window, in one of the window frames was a panel and in the center of the panel was a pipe. This is called a makeup air piper for the heating room.

Makeup supply or compensating air pipe is outside air  which is introduced into the building to replace air that is  exhausted from the building through ventilation or  combustion processes.
Fresh air, unconditioned makeup air can be introduced  into a building through open end duct system which  promotes uniform mixing of outside air with indoor air.
Modulating mixing dampers provide additional flexibility  in matching exhaust and temperature requirements. The  Ramsey house had a pipe installed in the house front  basement window. Sound can travel through this pipe.
The pipe inlet is located outside the house like a clothes  dryer vent, only designed to allow air in.
While many  heating contractors install these vents with barometric or  spring loaded dampers,  A make-up air vent should not  be restricted by a barometric or spring-loaded damper so  it will function correctly whether or not the blower is  running.

A neighbor heard a child scream that late night. Tests show that a child scream could not be heard on the third level of the house at night, the parent bedroom.

Child’s Murder Remains Unsolved after 18 Years

In issuing the public plea, John Ramsey, JonBenét ’s father said,
“We are hoping to jog memories and in doing so, asking  everyone to examine their consciences.”
He continued, “We’d like them to share any doubts or information they have about  someone they know who may have behaved strangely or acted out of character around the time of my daughter’s murder.”
“We have very good reason to believe that the individual that committed this crime may have done so in the past and is  absolutely capable of hurting someone else”, said (ret) detective Lou Smit who has worked on JonBenét’s case on behalf of  law enforcement and independently since 1997.
“The criminal community may have its own set of values and principals”  added Smit,
“but even so, can still come forward with information as there is a code of decency that cannot condone what  happened to JonBenét.”
“It's only going to take one email or phone call to solve this case, and it's going to be from somebody out in the public that  knows something and wants to do the right thing," said retired Sheriff’s Captain and Municipal Court Judge OM Gray. Gray,  an investigator involved with the Ramsey case since 1996, went on to say
“I would appeal to everyone to think back to  Christmas 1996 - did they see or hear about something suspicious?  Do they know anyone acting peculiar or out of the  ordinary that was either unaccounted for on the holiday or known to be in vicinity of Boulder, CO on 12/25/1996?"

Under the cover of darkness on Christmas, someone stole six year old Jonbenet from her bed. Statistically abused and  murdered, her tiny brutalized body, was discarded in a moldy storage room. Someone, somewhere knows why Jonbenet  became the target of this heinous crime.
Yes, the predator left his unique calling cards at the crime scene, but until his identity  is known, other innocent children and families are at risk.
We know someone is keeping a secret about what happened to  Jonbenet.
Maybe the secret, is a promise kept for a friend or loved one. Somewhere, someone knows something.
If you know  someone that may have information about what happened to Jonbenet, We urge you to contact the tip line, break the silence,  Please contact the Northern Colorado Crime Stoppers.

May be this year they will approve our Crime Stoppers Poster for Jonbenet Ramsey.

The ransom note had a movie connection.

RECOGNIZE Movie Lines

We can tell you that phrasing used in the ransom note suggests that the murder of JonBenét was planned in advance.
JonBenét's killer appears to be obsessed with techno-crime movies and phrases from them.
For example:
DIRTY HARRY
•"If I even think you're being followed, the girl dies."
•"If you talk to anyone, I don't care if it's a Pekinese pissing against a lamppost, the girl dies."
•"... that's the end of the game. The girl dies."
•"Now listen to me carefully."
•"Now listen. Listen very carefully."
•"It sounds like you had a good rest. You'll need it."

RANSOM
•"Do not involve the police or the FBI. If you do, I will kill him."
•"Do not inform the media or I will kill him."
•"No tracking devices in the money or the cases or I will kill him."

SPEED
•"You know that I'm on top of you. Do not attempt to grow a brain."

The killer appears to have compulsively watched, studied and quoted from movies such as these.
If you know someone who  obsessively watches these movies, uses these phrases or exhibits any of the pre- or post-crime behaviors such as:
•Made a point to establish an alibi
•Experienced an increase in alcohol or drug consumption
•Experienced depression
•Experienced conflict with a female or family member
•Closely followed media accounts of the crime PLEASE CALL Crime Stoppers Tip Line.

John Ramsey found a black piece of duct tape covering JBR's mouth when he first found JBR; he removed it before taking her upstairs.

Duct Tape
Duct tape or duck tape is cloth- or scrim-backed pressure-sensitive  tape often coated with polyethylene.
There are a variety of  constructions using different backings and adhesives.
One variation  is gaffer tape designed to be cleanly removed, while duct tape is  not. Another variation is heat-resistant duct tape useful for sealing  heating/ventilation/air-conditioning (HVAC) ducts, produced because  standard duct tape fails quickly when used on heating ducts.
Duct  tape is generally gray or black but also available in other colors.

"Inside the room, investigators found the white blanket that John said had been  wrapped around JonBenet, and the piece of black duct tape which had covered  her mouth.
They also found bundled inside the blanket a child's pink Burble  nightgown.
A red Swiss army knife was also found lying in the corner of the room  away from the blanket.
On the floor outside the door to the cellar was a paint tray  and acrylic painting supplies.
One of the detectives observed a wooden handle to  a paint brush, the type used by artists, which appeared to be broken and a piece  missing.
The floor of the wine cellar was vacuumed to collect any trace evidence.
The black duct tape, blanket, nightgown, knife, broken paint brush and paint tray,  and vacuumed particles were all collected and logged into evidence."

John Ramsey:
She was laying on the blanket, and the blanket was kind of folded around her  legs.
And her arms were tied behind her head, and there was some pieces of  black tape (inaudible) on her legs, and her head was cocked to the side.

There is a room that the killer may have use before the crime to monitor the family as printed in the ransom note.

Did the killer use the side door to the boiler room as a warm place to monitor the family early in the  day?
Did the killer use the phone system tie in  block located on the North side of the house to  monitor the calls? Located behind the back stairs was a vent that connects this room to the back  hall way.
This would give the killer a way to monitor sounds from the house and not be seen.
The  door to this room was located on the house North side and is not easily seen from inside the house  or by neighbors.
The killer could come and go as he likes.
The North side of the property line  would make a good cut through path to the alleyway.
The Butler door was near this location too.

What was in this warm and headed room?

H.V.A.C. room off garage
Heating/ventilation/air-conditioning

Many different types of boiler systems are made by several  manufacturers.
The basic function of any boiler system is to heat  up water and circulate it throughout a given house or building.  Certain boiler systems are more ideal for specific situations.
Each  type of boiler system has its advantages and disadvantages.
In conventional boiler systems, gas jets play onto cast iron heat  exchangers that water passes through to be heated.
Combination  boilers work in the same way as conventional boilers but also  provide taps with instant hot water. Adding a tank to a combination  system assures that hot water will not run out as quickly.
Back  boilers are able to be fueled by gas, oil or solid fuel. In the  secondary heat exchanger of a condensing boiler, water from flue  gases condenses and drains away through the bottom of the boiler.

A place of interest.

DNA and new testing.

At the time of JonBenet's death, technology for DNA testing on the  child's panties used "swabs" from fluid obtained from skin and  clothing to establish DNA identity.

In 2008, a few months before Mary Lacy left office, Lacy apologized  to the Ramseys, saying,
“I believe it is important and appropriate to  provide you with our opinion that your family was not responsible for  this crime.” She cited the “unknown” male DNA found in JonBenet’s  underwear, consistent with that found on the waistband of her  leggings.
“The match of male DNA on two separate items of clothing  worn by the victim at the time of the murder makes it clear to us that  an unknown male handled these items,” she wrote.
“Based on the  DNA results and our serious consideration of all the other evidence,  we are comfortable that the profile now in CODIS (the Combined  DNA Index System) is the profile of the perpetrator of this murder.”  Improvements in DNA sampling along with increasingly sensitive  testing methods have enabled scientists to obtain results from  cases that were once unsolvable.
One example of the success that  Bode has had processing cold cases including:

•Touch DNA collection procedures were applied to evidence from  the JonBenet Ramsey cold case that resulted in a potentially  probative DNA profile.

The Bode Lab recovered DNA from the top portion of  the leggings, on both the right and left legs, where the  perpetrator would have put his hands to move the  leggings.
Those new DNA "touch" samples from the  leggings match the DNA that was found in 1997 on the  panties of the child.

Lacy's letter also stated:
