I don't know whether any of you have been following the case of this young man.

He is from the UK, and is in danger of being extradited to the US for computer hacking.  He realises that he has done wrong, and is prepared to face trial/prison in this country.

He has Asperger's Syndrome, and lives with his parents, as he is not able to live alone. His parents believe that he is in real danger of committing suicide if he is extradited to the US, where he is likely to serve a long prison sentence in tougher conditions than he would in the UK.

114 MPs have recently signed a letter to Barak Obama  asking him to be lenient in this case.

In 2012, Theresa May, as Home Secretary intervened in a similar case: that of Gary McKinnon, and , as a result, he was spared extradition. The Home Secretary no longer has this power.
