Being declared an arguido in Postugal gives Brueckner certain rights;

the right to: be assisted by a defence counsel; attend all procedural acts that directly affect him; be heard in court or before the examining judge whenever they render a decision that may personally affect him; be informed on charges against him prior to making statements before any authority; take part in the inquiry (and in the examination – instrução - before the Examining Court) by providing evidence and requesting any measures found necessary; request the opening of the examination stage (instrução) where the Public Prosecutor has formally charged him, in order to challenge this decision and to prevent it from being submitted to a criminal court.

These rights will be difficult to deliver, given that this arguido is in prison in another country. Perhaps Portugal is going to ask the Germans to transfer him to them.

A written statement issued by the Portimao section of the Faro Department of Criminal Investigation and Prosecution (DIAP) said: “As part of the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of Madeleine McCann in 2007, a person was made an arguido on Wednesday.

“The person was made an arguido by the German authorities in execution of a request for international judicial cooperation issued by the Public Ministry of Portugal.

“The investigation is led by the Portimao section of the DIAP in Faro with the assistance of the Policia Judiciaria police.

“The investigation has been carried out with the cooperation of the English and German authorities.”

Christian B stayed silent after being informed of his new status and declined to be questioned as part of the criminal procedure.

It is not yet clear who informed him but it happened after a formal international letter of request issued by Portuguese authorities to their German counterparts.

The Portuguese move paves the way for him to be flown from Germany to the Algarve for formal questioning but there are not thought to be any immediate plans to try to quiz him in Portugal.

A spokesman for Portugal’s Attorney General’s Office, asked about the future of the probe led by a prosecutor based in the Algarve resort of Portimao, said: “The investigation is proceeding, with the inquiry not having a final conclusion yet.”

Looks like all three investigative authorities intend to fully investigate everything to do with Madeleine's case.  My opinion - this could very well be a disconcerting time for Amaral as he ponders how to explain his active spoiling role in intervening in their active investigation starting in 2019 with his Saunokonoko podcast.

Christian Brückner, 44, was accused this Wednesday by the German authorities "in the context of the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the disappearance, in 2007, of Madeleine McCann", informed the District of Faro of the Public Ministry, in communicated.

In June 2020, the prosecutor's office in Braunschweig (in the center of the country) opened a case against 44-year-old Brückner, based on "material evidence" for the kidnapping and murder of Madeleine McCann.

Maddie disappeared from the tourist apartment that her family rented in Praia da Luz, Algarve, on the night of May 3, 2007, when she was 3 years old, taken from the room where she slept with two other brothers.

The girl's disappearance caused a lot of ink to flow in Portugal and in the world and among the various suspects named came to be the parents themselves.

To this day it is unknown what happened to the British girl, in a case that led to a lawsuit by her parents against the inspector of the Judicial Police who led the investigation and who wrote a controversial book in which the parents appeared as the main suspects.

Years later, a German prosecutor claims to have collected evidence of Brücker's alleged participation in the child's disappearance, and it was even announced that an analysis of his cell phone showed him at the time in the vicinity of the tourist village where Maddie disappeared.

Christian Brücker is due to stand trial this year for the rape of a 20-year-old woman committed in Portugal, according to the weekly Spiegel reported in December.

According to the same source, the Braunschweig Prosecutor's Office will have to accuse the suspect, Christian Brücker, of the rape of a 20-year-old German woman that took place in Portugal in 2004, three years before the disappearance of the English child Madeleine McCann.

Spiegel added that the case of the 20-year-old German woman has similarities with the 2005 rape of a 72-year-old American citizen in Praia da Luz, Algarve, a crime for which Christian Brücker has already been sentenced to seven years in prison. in Germany.

The sad thing is that these people neither seem to realise nor do they appear to care about the horrible implications for Madeleine with three National policing bodies in agreement that a person Like Brueckner had her in his power.

So the Met were instructed by the High Ups not to look at the parents, the BKA only got involved for the glory and because of HCW’s massive ego, what’s the PJ’s excuse?  How do sceptics cope with the fact that not one, not two but THREE international police forces (including their own beloved PJ) consoder Madeleine to be the victim of a stranger abductor?  What exactly is it about the sceptic brain that is so elevated and brilliant that it can see things from the comfort of the armchair that three police forces simply cannot see?  It must be sooooooo frustrating!!

I dont see how CB being made an arguido makes the dog alerts "BS".... Science tells us the alerts are not BS.... I've actually seen dog alerts first hand very recently and they were correct.... as is the case in over 90% of alerts.

I live near here and feel so sorry for Madeleine and her parents. It is difficult to overstate how incompetent the Portuguese authorities can be.
