Was it soul and mind destroying enough for you? It was far worse than I'd imagined. It was interesting to hear the diverse views of JB and amusing to hear the Guardian guy's description of Saint Jeremy -he's clearly besotted- it sounds as if he's an entirely different character from the one described by both 'residents' and guards, but their description of him sounded pretty accurate to me.
Very!... but I think they emphasized the bleakness by shooting low-key, with minimum lighting and on floors of the wings which were sparsely occupied or unoccupied at the time. Unless that was from old footage. Former lag Eric Allison, misguided as ever, suitably counteracted by another, Noel "Razor" Smith - "Bamber's guilty as sin, everybody knows this".
Instead of employing outside contractors, they should organise the lags into chain-gangs to refurbish and redecorate the flaking paint on the ceilings. But then again, that would probably descend into comic mayhem similar to the finale at Blackpool Tower Circus with Charlie Cairoli & Co. hurling buckets of whitewash at each other.
I'm not all that keen on lashing out on presents for relatives at Christmas either, particularly those who don't return the compliment... so the former jailer who joked about Bamber's predicament has given me ideas... hmmm.
