I don't know if victim impact statements are allowed yet in South African Courts (although usually only after the sentence has been set) so I guess talking to the Mail was one outlet for the family to try and influence the result, but hope it doesn't have the opposite effect and bias the judge's opinion in OP's favour if she hears/reads about it.

Wonder if OP will cough next week and surprise us all, or dig a deeper hole for himself ?

Well I put the imo's in as I don't want to appear an overbearing, opinionated, narcissistic arsehole like OP! That doesn't mean I don't know I am right!  8)-)))

Pistorius has a chavvy back tattoo with the words as follows:

Very revealing as to the mindset of this narcissistic killer I would say!

I'm trying to look at this from both sides but it's not proving easy.
I can imagine being him feeling absolutely horrendous about what I'd done, knowing I had killed Reeva and not being ever to bring her back or apologise enough to her family. I also have tried to put myself in the position of the family and how they must feel. I can't imagine their world now.
I do think he made a mistake.

Mr Nel is illustrating with his unrelenting questioning the absolute flaws in Oscar Pistorius’s version of events, which seem to change to suit each question put to him.
 
In my opinion OP is tying himself in knots and if the horror of what he did was not being made so apparent one could almost feel sorry for him. 

The picture shown in court to show the trajectory of the bullets was chilling. 
I  think Mr Nel is directing attention from OP’s histrionics in court to the terror Reeva was subjected to in that enclosed toilet.

A telling moment was when Nel asked "What did you shout at the intruder ?"

After a prolonged silence OP replied twice in a raised voice..."Get the f*ck out of my house ! Get the f*ck out of my house !"

... then he broke down and sobbed. Court adjourned for a few minutes.

Was he in fact recalling what he actually shouted at Reeva, if she said to him "I'm leaving you, Oscar" and this thought touched a raw nerve ?

Then when court resumed with similar questioning the expletives had disappeared, with no subsequent breakdown and crying.

Yes, he fired the first shot A (bottom trajectory) hitting Reeva's pelvis as she was stood up, then when he heard her fall back on to the magazine rack which was against the wall to the left of the toilet bowl, he changed his aim further to his right, shot B (next trajectory up) which missed her but ricocheted off the wall, shattered and caused bruising on her back.

I've been glued to these trial videos for days now & there have been two killings so far as I can see.

Reeva getting killed in the toilet & Oscars story getting killed in the courtroom.
