Has anybody been following this case (a local one to me) ?

Timothy Brehmer was a police officer with Dorset police. In May this year, he killed his lover of ten years, after she threatened to tell his wife about their affair.  He pled guilty to manslaughter, but was tried for murder at Salisbury Crown Court.

This week, he was unanimously cleared of murder, and has, today, been sentenced to ten years and six months imprisonment for manslaughter.

Do you think the verdict was fair, or do you think Brehmer should have been convicted of murder?

Do you think the sentence was fair (he may apply for parole after serving two thirds of the sentence, apparently).
