The wooden bench is in the middle of the photo, roughly north of the 90 degree bend in the river.  If she was abducted the nearest secluded roads/cul-de-sacs for any car to park in wait are to the north-west by the Wyreside Farm Caravan Park and to the north-east near the houses at Rowanwater.

They are appealing for dash cam footage still so obviously haven't ruled out the possibility that she didn't go in the river.

Missing dog walker Nicola Bulley’s body could have been swept out to sea by now if she fell into the River Wyre as police have suggested, according to the head of a specialist rescue team searching for her.

Peter Faulding of Specialist Group International told The Times that the distance and river’s course meant the 45-year-old’s body could have reached the sea by now, as Lancashire Police said: “Clearly as time goes on, the open sea becomes much more of a possibility.”

Lets examine the facts.

1. The police claim to have additional information but they're not saying what that is. That's because they are lying and want to make sure the infantile public carry on believing in them.

2. The phone was logged onto a call, you don't drop a phone and leave it unless you're trying to resolve something huge, threatening or dangerous. Running away from danger or an assailant might be a good cause.

3. There is a long history of these types of attacks from a very experienced killer, Linda Razzell, Melanie Hall, Suzy Lamplugh, to name but a few. Are the police still trying to cover things up? Shame to investigate one of their most respected informants I suppose, wouldn't look good, would it?

St Michael's is being inundated with grief tourists and total idiots atm, including "One woman, Karen Booth, who had come from Sheffield, said that she had previously flown to Portugal to look for Madeleine McCann."

I thought we were supposed to be looking for Madeleine?  Isn't that precisely what her parents asked the public to do? How else was Karen supposed to help look for Maddie, if not by visiting Portugal & searching?

There was a programme about the case last night on Channel 5.  What I didn't know until watching it is that the dog's harness was found halfway down the bank to the river.  I'm wondering if the dog was heading for the river, Nicola went to her at that point, was taking off the harness, lost her balance and fell back into the river.  The dog may have not seen what happened to her.  All conjecture and her family and friends seem pretty convinced something more sinister has occurred.

Yes it could very well have happened that way.  She was taking off the harness for the dog to have a swim.

Because they don't want to give up hope. If they accept she may have fell in the river then there really is no hope at all. It is a steep embankment. Not too difficult to tumble down I'd imagine. I still find it strange that she hasn't bloated & resurfaced by now, but I'm also having great difficulty picturing her being marched across open fields at knife point to a waiting getaway car.

Look who's just rocked up, Avon and Somerset Constabulary in the form of retired Superintendent Julia "sharp as a beach ball" Mackay, fully supporting the Lancashire Heroes theory that Bulley accidentally fell into a river.

Rough translation = "Try and keep this one covered up for us will you, otherwise we are in for an arse kicking".

You couldn't make it up if you tried, you really couldn't.
