I don't know a great deal about JonBenet's case apart from the allegation that Boulder police botched it right from the beginning.
From information from the CBS documentary it appears that as far as the investigation is concerned the similarity between the two cases might run deep on the police mishandling of both which might very well have allowed perpetrators to walk free.
Leaks to the press ...
Snip
Most of the “scoops” leaked to the media were probably false
About 20 minutes into the documentary, longtime JonBenét case reporter Paula Woodward drops a major bombshell by claiming that “not a single leak was true.”

This kind of media manipulation would suggest that the Boulder Police Department did indeed direct suspicion towards the parents from the get-go, supporting what Ramseys have claimed since the media pegged them as the killers.

Did an apparently similar initial police response to both the investigations result in the failure to find a perpetrator combined with the vilification of the family concerned leading to the conspiracy theory overload we know so well?
The perpertators in both cases have not been caught or tried. If you know who they are and have evidence of botched police being the main reason for thier non capture then please do us all a favour and tell someone who can do smoething about it.
However As I suspect, you have no evidence of anything about both cases and were not present or were involved were you? Then your post just uses an excuse to slander off police. Can you with your infinite wisdom offer us a clue as to why the police would want to not capture the person/s who murdered/stole these children? any clue at all do you think the police were involved and this was a coverup?
It seems to me that the similarities are true about the parents behaviour as I have mentioned. The police go on what they have when they arrive.
In both cases the 'crime' scene was tampered with. both parents had 'friends' to witness their grief both contacted the media and gave interviews before proper police questioning.
SO what if the suspected the parents are you really suggesting parents do not harm their children if they have money ? 'pauper-snob ' a poor person who believes rich people should be admired and loved because they have wealth .
Perhaps, you do not find the fact that the father on being told a search was to be made of the property- ran to the cellar with his friend and 'found' his daughter, lifter her up took her to the living room and placed her under a xmas tree.
What? really? I mean seriously! The the long winded ransom note- they left it behind.. why? they killed the child right? so why leave it. Why take the time to write it in the first place.
The apparent entry was claimed to be a small cellar window. a cobweb was still in tact at the corner, which would have been removed if there was an entry or exit. MBM window was used as a suggested exit entry- which brought its own problems.
IMO. The police had the odds stacked against them by the families of these children. whether the families were involved or not.
tampering with evidence is never a good thing.
