SY clearly don't think it was a make believe story.   But then they have access to all the known facts, information and witnesses and don't have to rely on what are only small extracts from telephone conversations re the shutters.

They also clearly understand the effect of  'chinese whispers' which happen when conversations are repeated -  and also the fallibility of memory - none of which 'sceptics' appear to even want to consider - but the omission of which always guarantees unrealistic conclusions.  IMO

Fortunately SY and the Oporto team know better than to operate like that.

The notion that innocence prevails over guilt – when there is no evidence to the contrary – is what separates civilization from barbarism.    Unfortunately, there are remains of barbarism among us.    Until very recently, it headed the PJ in Portimão. I hope he was the last one.

And is that the extent of your 'debate'?

How about giving your opinion on the effects of chinese whispers and the fallibility of memory on conversations.    Do you agree that when repeated by others -  different words are often used in the place of words that were originally spoken by the person they were talking to.    Or do you think people always repeat conversations  - no matter how long  - word for word like tape recorders?

I think people tend to relate the gist of the conversations they've had, which are often coloured by their own interpretation of what has happened - but because they are in no position to check the facts - may be incorrect assumptions at the time.

Humans don't have a 'playback' button.

Seriously Stephen  - what do you think?   Surely you must have an opinion.

More than 8 years and no sign of Madeleine, let alone proof of what happened to her.

So she hadn't started making notes that night then?  Thank you!  2 days later it was already well established that the shutters weren't physically broken so why would she need to note this?  It's an absurd notion.

So you now accept that at the time the McCanns phoned their relatives on 3/4th May that they told them the shutters  were broken/jemmied/forced ?
Brietta posted on 10/04/2022 “But whether or not that is the reason behind the delay I am certain that Brueckner's trial is going to take place.”

Let’s count the months, shall we?

I have no idea exactly what they said, and I'm not remotely bothered if they said broken, jemmied, opened, forced, it really isn't that important, in fact it's so unimportant that it wasn't even the subject of close questioning by the police in Gerry's arguido interview as far as I'm aware.

What have achieved ?

Have they found the nature of the crime ?

Beliefs of course don't count.
