Thanks Anne, I'm sure I read it twice, that is in two places. Did some of the day 7 witness statement get attached to day 6 thread? and have now be reshuffled. Anyway, what an amazing, off the cuff remark from the judge. Not only had GA kept to the official line, it was merely the 'splash' on the front cover that hinted and revelations beyond the official closing file.
My take of events so far, show the judge has a mind set of distinguishing between the FACT of law what is libel, a printed lie and the emotions people suffer from the perception of the contents of the book. Or as it is becoming increasingly clear misconception of closing official file by the McCanns\advisers, making the book more understandable, thus explains\reinforces the thesis.
The thing that so far most amazing me and now with hindsight is the McCanns have received across the board based on their innocence (none involvement of any crime) they have been given erroneous advice.
What goes on here in the UK is very ill timed, the MET should have known better to have got involved in these shenanigans, if we are to believe they are the top of their league in intelligence gathering. If they wish to have staged a Crimewatch Programme, that was filmed six months ago, why wait until now. Particularly as they are on Portuguese soil with rogatory letters & other supported investigations.
Not only was this bad etiquette to all involved it also shows a very negative MET's communication with the Portuguese police, culture and people. But it has also taken away a positive step to solving the case of Madeleine's disappearance by pitching two countries against one another. In fact one wonders where the FO is in all this considering their early involvement.
The judge is running a good tight ship and she doesn't need the distractions now of additional witnesses jumping around or trying to change direction. But one supports and understands GA hand almost being forced to take the stand (give witness) if they do.
Again, with thanks Ann & John

All anyone wants then and now is that Madeleine's disappearance is explained. I have always considered from any scenario that she is dead, that she never saw the rising sun on the 4th, and let this little one be allowed to RIP
Added ..... it's been puzzling me all day, where did I read it before and I know it wasn't on this thread, since I'm sure this thread 7 didn't exist.
''Under questioning by the Judge as to the claim of 'new revelations' on the cover of the book, Ricardo Paiva mumbles and doesn't answer. The Judge retorts, shall I have to conclude then that what's on the cover is misleading publicity?''
It was John's provisional post, awaiting correction\validation in the 'grey' thread.
So I stand corrected it has been only once the judge picked up and commented on the front cover.
