agreed apart from the fact that I would say self preservation. The self destruction description is more apt to amaral.. He could have written a very similar book which did not expose himself to such a risk..an arrogant fool is a reasonable description...he was and felt untouchable...he isn't

As far as this damages trial was concerned the McCanns started the juggernaut rolling but seem not to have appreciated it was always going to be the other guy who would be the one who decided when it stopped.
imo What ever the result at the Supreme Court both parties would be well advised to give it neck at that point unless they want to waste another 10 years. The worst scenario for either side isn't bad. If the Macs lose out they shell out the remaining court costs and keep the change and can move on it wasn't their money anyway in the sense of manhours worked to obtain it. If Amaral loses he shells out from the sequestered funds so he is no worse off than he is now. No one said Cayman Islands did they?   &%+((£

We have been through this numerous times already.

If she had got out of the apartment herself, then no crime in the apartment took place.

Wasn't that different event? Are we counting cumulative scores like with a triathlon ?
