Perhaps it would be more fair to ask if he'd been born with a propensity for evil? If such was so and he'd grown up feeling -for whatever reason- that his needs hadn't been met/his needs had been pushed aside because of a more demanding sibling, it's likely that he could have been suppressing anger all his life. He may have been a bomb looking for a place to explode.
