As Jeremy Bamber and his campaign team constantly highlight how he passed a lie detector test, and claim that this proves he isn’t lying and can’t have possibly murdered his family, it’s evident that JB believes polygraphs are infallible.
Therefore, why hasn’t he ever once asked, suggested — let alone DEMANDED — that Julie Mugford takes a polygraph test too?
Surely an innocent man incarcerated for 35 years would do absolutely ANYTHING to try and clear his name?
It isn’t even difficult to arrange a polygraph. They’re not costly; Julie could take one in Canada; and between arranging one and getting the results would take just days!
Just think: if Julie took one next week, he could possibly be FREE in just a few weeks/months!😃
Has anyone asked Jeremy why he hasn’t thought to ask?
I’m sure Julie would oblige, and if she did refuse, that could cast doubt on everything she said in evidence. So it’s a win-win for him, isn’t it?!

A polygraph has no value in the UK courts, and no-one can be forced to take one. I'm quite sure Mugford wouldn't volunteer to take one.
-
The polygraph could be a valuable tool in the right hands but at this stage in its development it is merely a method used to scare offenders into making admissions. The current equipment cannot distinguish a lie from the truth in every situation as human psysiology differs because of a number of factors. The claims by Terry Mullins and others are groundless imo.
So little wonder this so-called science is not allowed into our courtrooms in the UK.

It has been brought to my attention that some posters are still using inappropriate comments and remarks towards other members on the boards. Forum rules dictate that all responses should be amicable and constructive, there is no need to express any opinion or respond to any question aggressively.
Please keep this in mind guys when posting. TY

I’m aware of that
And I know the courts wouldn’t rely on them. However, it would certainly help Jeremy Bamber’s cause if it was shown that the polygraph showed she’d lied. I know they’re not reliable, but Jeremy Bamber insists they are, so why doesn’t he ask JM to do one?
I also disagree that Julie would refuse. She came back in 2002 to testify, so I see no reason why she’d refuse to take a test.

I haven’t made any inappropriate comments, John — in fact, Mrs Wah said today that she hadn’t seen me make any such comments.
Holly removed my post where I said I thought Daisy was shy and timid, which I don’t feel is insulting.

Maybe Daisy reported you ?
If so, she isn’t as timid and shy as I assumed...
Then again, on reflection, anyone brazen enough to make contact with a mass murderer can’t be timid, I guess...

It would be a good challenge to JM if Jeremy Bamber knew she was lying. If she refused to take the test it might send a message that she had something to hide - when thr McCanns didn’t take a lie detector test this was considered by some to be evidence that they must be lying about something. So, why doesn’t JB put JM on the spot in this way? Maybe because he knows she’s not lying....

Absolutely.
If I’d been accused of such a heinous crime and convicted partially on someone’s evidence which I knew was a lie, I would move heaven and earth to force them to take a lie detector test!
Even if they are inadmissible in British courts, I’d STILL insist, because everyone including the courts would KNOW about it if she failed, and that would help your case tremendously!
I don’t know why his supporters haven’t contributed to this thread....😌

Oh, I forgot 😌
Gunit says they’re of no value in UK courts; no-one can be forced to take one; and Julie wouldn’t volunteer to take one.
Ahhh, I see....
But Gunit, you and his supporters are so strident: so determined!
Why don’t you at least ASK Julie to take one? She can only refuse — which would be GOOD for jeremy ! That would put doubt in people’s minds that Julie had told the truth 😳
You’ll be helping his cause, Gunit.
-
The CT have constantly created articles and videos against JM.
As the main witness, they could go public & ask her take a test. There is nothing to lose.
Julie would not respond but it would keep the campaign in the public eye. The CT could repeat that he passed his test & then could bad mouth Julie for not taking one.
Have never known of a convicted criminal asking a witness to take a lie detector test. But this is Jeremy Bamber, so you never know.

I think you're strident enough to ask your own questions Spy.

I'm quite sure that Julie wants nothing to do with this case and puts as much distance between herself and anything or anyone associated with Jeremy Bamber and who would blame her. She didn't ask to be involved in his murderous crimes, in fact, she had a lucky escape.

I agree with you, Adam.
As Jeremy Bamber is searching for any angle in order to help a hopeful future appeal, despite polygraph test results not being admissible in British Courts, the fact the judges would KNOW Julie Mugford had either failed one, or refused to take one, would go heavily in Jeremy’s favour.
After all, part of his appeal argument that he’s innocent is that he’s always claimed Julie lied: if he can prove she failed the polygraph or refused to take one, it would certainly cast doubt in the appeal judges minds...

I have never, nor would ever make contact with that man; nor would I put it to the campaign team.
You could, though 😊

I agree entirely, John. Absolutely!
As soon as the trial was over and she did her one press interview she hid away from public view and made a new life for herself. She’s refused many lucrative offers since then to do more interviews but has always turned them down. You’re right: she wants no part of it anymore. And I don’t blame her.
I guess I’m more curious why JB and his campaign team haven’t approached her and asked her to do one, though?
The fact they haven’t suggests they’re scared she’d agree to take one...

Well, you clearly support him and try to look for discrepancies, weak as they are, that could help him
So why wouldn’t you suggest to him that publicly asking a Julie to take a polygraph would help his case?
Why not throw the gauntlet down?

I think you should confine yourself to the facts rather than speculating about what I think and telling me what to do.

And perhaps you could get out of the habit of asking people their opinion and then telling them that you're not interested in their opinion.

That’s hypocritical considering how frequently you make assumptions and hypothesis
But that isn’t what I asked you in reply to your question to me — so I’ll ask you again:
Why are you reluctant to suggest Jeremy or a member of his campaign team to publicly ask Julie to do a polygraph? He insists she’s lied; his CT do too; so why in 35 years hasn’t he or his CT asked Julie to take one?

Ooh ooh, me, me!
Because it would be utterly futile. What would be the point? Even the desperate Bamber can see the futility in it.
Besides, if his 'team' managed to make contact, I'm pretty sure it anything he wanted would be met with a foxtrot oscar.
-
The CT have a section on the website entitled 'Liars Lobby' where they accuse a wide range of people of lying so why single out JM for a lie detector test?

He doesn't need to make contact with her - just challenge her via the media to take a polygraph and when she (quite rightly) ignores the challenge he and his team can make capital out her "refusal".

She would ignore any correspondence from Bamber and/or his team.

Whatever are you on about?
Im discussing psychopath Jeremy Bamber and Julie. I’m not talking about myself.
I asked why jeremy has never challenged Julie to take a polygraph. He’s litigious; is like a dog with a bone; clutches at any old straw; and tries ANYTHING to try and worm out of prison. He constantly brags how HE passed a polygraph (but psychopaths do pass them), so he clearly feels they prove something.
So why hasn’t he asked Julie to take one?
You’re assuming she’d say no, and she possibly would refuse: she’s not obliged to. But you never know...she might agree!
The only reason he and his CT won’t ask her is that they’re dead scared she would agree.
Julie doesn’t appear uncouth, so I can’t see her saying FO. She isn’t living in a Sierra Hotel...mixing with s..m.

He's scared? Scared of a concept that you aren't even sure he's contemplated?
Yes, I'm assuming she'd say no, but actually, she wold probably more likely ignore any form of contact.
Irrespective, it's an exercise in futility for several reasons, the most pertinent being that they are unreliable.

That's one old straw he hasn't clutched at isn't it? As you say, the idea of challenging JM to a 'lie-detector' competition is not Bamber's. There's no reason to believe he ever contemplated asking her, so this is a strawman argument.

He’s had 35 years to ponder over everything, including having his bamberloons pay for him to take a polygraph, so are you seriously suggesting the thought of asking Julie to take one too hasn’t crossed through that twisted mind of his — and his ever-changing group of fruit loops who seem to despise her and say he she DEFINITELY lied?
Don’t be naive.

Strange he hasn’t considered it given that he’s spent 35 years trying to plot hs way out of jail...

You should get in touch with his team and run it past them. It might prove revelatory and press them in to action, having hitherto never considered this most obvious of tactics.

Neither do you, Ag

Still waiting for you to show evidence he even sent you a letter...
Oh, and FYI, I’m intelligent enough to know that if jeremy Bamber HAD requested Julie take a polygraph everyone would’ve have known: his CT would’ve made sure to that.
No idea why you’re all so scared at the suggestion....
