Dr Sandra Lean to take part in a live podcast question and answer session tonight at 8pm on Facebook.
Get all those questions ready and ask the woman herself what you would like to know?
I'm going to ask her why now after everything that has taken place.
I wondered if it's happening now because:
MK died last year, and they think they can pin it on him; or
we're approaching the time when LM may be able to campaign for release/parole?
Good question, though, but I suspect the questions will be screened.

The sycophancy from the hosts and most of the chat box during the session was pretty incredible. No much critical thinking to be found anywhere.
Nothing much said that wasn't already in the show, a lot of very convenient explanations for every single thing that challenges her view of things.
She did claim the the alleged recent confession she's been on about was from no-one previously linked to the case. Doubt it'll put a pin in the libellous crap about certain people that's been spreading around social media since the show aired, but one can hope.

I think the live Q and A went very well, Sandra was able to provide a lot more information that was not included in the documentary, stuff that has been going round for years now. I think she has done a great job. There were a couple of questions that could have been answered a bit more fully, like the parka question, I think it was clear the person was asking if the jacket was not burned where did it go, I think the answer would have been there was no parka but it could have been made clear. Also the question about what was found on the path that belonged to Luke, she said nothing was found but I think she should have been clearer in saying nothing of Luke’s was found on the path, over the wall or in or near the body.
One thing one of the interview guys said I think would be interesting was for John and Sandra to be on the next part. But not sure either party would take part? In order to balance things out and be able to ask the questions the community have been asking for years would be for someone from the other side of the argument who knows the details of the case to be involved in the next podcast. But that could also go a whole lot of wrong!

I think this is probably off topic but since you asked - did Operation Grange close the case saying they’d solved the Madeleine case and Euclides Monteiro was the perpetrator? I don’t remember that happening, so perhaps you can explain what you mean?

They simply tried to pin Madeleine's abduction on him but his widow gave him an alibi.

I would agree with a review but the SCCRC has already spent months doing just that. It isn't as if some new compelling evidence is available. It's not as if Sandra Lean has come up with anything that can destroy the existing circumstantial evidence.
Luke had no alibi, he had a history of threatening girls with a knife, his knife went missing, several hours remain unaccounted for, he was two timing Jodi with a girl who looked very like her, he was seen by two women standing on the side of the road near the murder scene looking dazed, he took the searchers right to the body of Jodi Jones after walking past it minutes earlier.

Ended up watching/listening to this on YouTube.
The podcast lads made it very easy for Sandra Lean, and not much was said of note.
The comments feed was much more interesting with names being named re guilt and the alleged confession.
A question came in near the end asking about LM's DNA being found on Jodi, but being inadmissible, but that question wasn't asked.
The person who asked about a parka felt the the question was deflected.
One things for sure - Sandra Lean and the Mitchells suddenly have a lot of support thanks to this week's documentary.

I asked a few questions too. Only one got a waffle of an answer. It would've seemed a strange question to be asked but was very relevant. She waffled a reply which didn't answer the question. Perhaps she realised the angle I was coming from. An important one that didn't get answered and I guess thats because it would show her as a liar. Her and corrine have repeatedly stated that Luke isn't on protection. I said that wasn't true. If she had acknowledged that I may have given her the benefit of doubt. She didn't and I can guarantee he is on protection. Not acknowledging this gives me no alternative but to question every word that comes out of her mouth.

It appeared that apart from a few viewers, those who knew John were basically telling him to be quiet and those who didn’t weren’t enamoured with his performance. Sandra certainly came out of it looking like the adult in the room.

Brothers arrest, forced and manipulated, where is Sandra's evidence for this? Seems like a poor excuse to me to explain away Luke's only alibi. Lots of stuttering and looking very uncomfortable when she is trying to explain this away. Only the brother can confirm what happened to him. But since he wants nothing to do with Sandra or his mother, and will not speak publicly, for the backlash that he would ensure, because Sandra has whipped up the conspiracy theorists into a frenzy. You just have to look at the hate directed to John on the comments section, for questioning Sanda.
Was it probably explained, why Corrine really had to sell her house? Quick google searches will explain this and show that she was being sued for something unrelated to Luke's case. I do wonder why they mentioned this on the documentary, for the sympathy vote? Maybe show some sympathy for the man that lost his life for buying one of Corrine's dodgy caravans.
The girl from Kenmore, Luke was 2 timing Jodi with? Luke turning up to Jodi's grave with another girl? He loved her that much apparently.
Mark Kane who do you believe? A professional lecturer that has nothing to gain from lying? Or a so-called criminologist that has a shocking history of supporting guilty murderers. Adrian Prout and Simon Hall rings a bell.
A quick look at Google Maps will show that there is a back route, that could have been taken undetected. Though trees and over a river (the south esk) that takes Luke right out to his front door.
Why has every single appeal failed?
If Luke is innocent, then Sandra Lean is not the answer. She has made the debate toxic with her lies. Trying to blame every other male in Midlothian and trying to undermine every witness statement that goes against Luke as lying or having been manipulated or mistaken, is not acceptable. Luke needs proper professional people behind him, not these charlatans. But i suspect the good and proper professional's with good track records won't touch it for a reason.

It WAS bizarre, as was the documentary - there's just too much of the giggly, wriggly, crazy-eyes stuff while discussing the savage murder of a young girl. It's disrespectful and doesn't sit right.

It WAS bizarre, as was the documentary - there's just too much of the giggly, wriggly, crazy-eyes stuff while discussing the savage murder of a young girl. It's disrespectful and doesn't sit right.

They already have you pegged as a 'malevolent troll', so you wouldn't get a fair hearing.

So, why did she name MK and RG?
(I'm no fan of RG, btw)
Also, when she was asked about LM pulling a knife on the young girl at the cadets, she said it's one person's word against another's - so:

CRIMINOLOGIST: It's your word against his.

this was an innocent young girl that was attacked with a knife and you have no way of proving it didn’t happen so better to be empathetic and give the benefit of the doubt.

its not clear if it was reported to cadet leader at time. according to kvn in news article, Grace Mcleans daily mail article 22nd January 2005, he never returned to cadets after that day (this was in may 1 to 2 month before the murder). if you believe this article then kvn and lm were in the hut alone. kvn says she told her parents of attack, and her dad told the police, as soon as she found out lm was victms boyfriend

The entire cadet force should have known about the incident but the platoon leader, when he appeared in court, was never asked about it, even though his evidence was about Luke and knives. That speaks volumes to me.
What I think? There has always been churnalists with open chequebooks and ‘witnesses’ willing to avail themselves of that benefit in this case. This has made it almost impossible to tell fact from fiction.

do you know that with certianty? beyond the tiny snippets we occasionaly get in press, i dont think theres any way anyone who wasnt at court or doesnt have the transcripts could say what was asked of him with certainty

If the platoon leader had been asked about the incident then it would be absolutely ridiculous to think that the girl wouldn’t have been called as a witness too. I’m sure the jury would also find it strange.

Irrelevant. The issue is whether or not Mitchell was into knives and carried them. The evidence seems overwhelming that he was and he did.

My mistake - Jay Mack referred to you as a ‘malevolent troll’ Sandra Lean agreed with him
Sandra Lean: “This guy will try to discredit everything I say. Jibberjabber recently claimed they designed Sandra Leans Facebook profile where they had included and promoted a logo for Amazon and referred to her as a ‘leading criminologist’
In the same breath one of them said during the live Q&A they thought she was Mitchell ‘auntie’
What are they playing at?

I do hope if anyone ever tells you they’ve been threatened with a knife by their partner you take them seriously and don’t need the perp to be found guilty in a court of law before believing them
If they tell me first instead of a newspaper I’m sure I’ll believe them.

It would appear that the article claiming Luke was twelve was talking about the same incident. Which age was right can only be guessed.
Most certainly was not. When he was 12, Mitchell had used a knife to threaten the daughter of a family who were guests in the Mitchell house. He had climbed onto her bed, held the knife to her throat and asked for a kiss.
This is nothing to do with the later incident at the Air Cadets hall.

Didn't know Dr Lean studied at Stirling - SF studied there too. Probably a coincidence.

Sandra Lean may recall Billy Middleton suspected Shaun Hall (Simon Hall’s brother) of using an anonymous account to maliciously post on the wrongly accused person org forum back in/around 2009/10 and traced the IP address
Shaun Hall went on to use multiple online identities (Over several years) used smear tactics and dishonesty in order to not only discredit but stop the truth of his brothers guilt to murder from being exposed.
Sandra Lean may also recall Shaun Hall threatened me with physical violence in the Court of Appeal in 2010.
Sandra and others may also recall a message being left on the wrongly accused person org forum reading,
‘It's pretty common knowledge in the village that the murder was actually carried out by a certain Portuguese resident of the village that was said to be acting very strangely on the evening in question and disappeared shortly after the event.
On the 15th November 2013 Shaun Hall posted the following on the Bamber forum
“What’s the latest on Mr Hall? Not seen any updates for a while? Last person I heard from was on Facebook by Mrs Hall. Anyone know why she disappeared? Did anything come of Mr Halls appeal for reduced sentence because of abuse he suffered by his adopted Mother and Brother?”
