Title: Sky's Martin Brunt and that woopsie over the DNA results!
Post by: Admin on May 18, 2013, 08:43:53 PM
Is Sky's Martin Brunt a complete tit or is he just simply yet another journalist who reports things without corroboration?
Here he is promoting the falsehood that a full DNA match to Madeleine was found in the McCanns hire car.

No, not necessarily.
Don't forget that this was the beginning of the 24/7 age.
He was just reporting the info that he had been given.
My questions is: who fed him false info?

It just goes to show that you cannot believe a word of anything you hear reported on Sky News because it is probably an exaggeration just as it was with the DNA evidence and the McCann hire car.
I agree with Carana, who exactly was feeding Martin Brunt this crap?

Every bit Carana.
Just who was feeding him false info? Propaganda of a very damaging sort. He was a fool to repeat lots of it, but from others reports that has carried on, hasn't it?

Dunno. In several clips, he was reporting live. Someone must have been feeding "info" into his earpiece. A breaking-news press wire?
He was the face in front of the live news camera. Others should have been checking out info for him.
As it stands, he repeated what he had been given as "info", and it was rubbish.
Who fed him that rubbish?

I am sorry but I really don't think that is how it works.
The earpiece is for him to receive cueing instructions from the studio. It isn't for him to receive information. He is the journalist on the ground and it is him they are relying on for information. It is his job to provide the information not just act as a mouthpiece. No-one gives him something to say. He researches it, writes it and presents it as the live journalist on the ground.
Martin Brunt was the person responsible for the information that was broadcast live on Sky.

Still leaving them on the internet, is she? Bet she is churning more out as we type
Hideho has been hanging onto every discredited news item to weave them into a nonsensical scenario.
In my view, Gilet did an excellent review of her videos. There is practically nothing in any of her montages that reflects reality. And she hasn't returned here to defend them. Not that I'm surprised - she can't.
I have no idea what her motivation is.

How do we know that the results, as they were given to the PJ and British police, did not indicate that the DNA was that of Maddie? Everything changed with the "interpretation" of the results by John Lowe and can we be sure that his "interpretation" was not biased?
BTW, I believe that Hideho has been doing a fantastic job. As for nonsensical scenario, I will leave that for the abduction fairy tale.

You are quite right it was all about the 'interpretation'. Which is a dangerous move, especially if it is to establish guilt or innocence.
My belief is the dogs did alert to something- that something is we don't know for sure- therefore, not reliable as 'evidence'. However, adding this situation to others then a circumstantial base for suspicion could have been brought forward to be further investigated. MEANS-MOTIVE-OPPORTUNITY. Three basics- and the starting point in most serious crimes; added to- last known persons to have seen her alive to establish time line.

He's as 2 faced as they come, or was got at. I remember when he said there was no way the McCann's were involved in Madeleine's abduction.
Tuesday, 26 June 2007 My opinion about Gerry and Kate McCann
I don’t believe, as a journalist, that the McCanns are, in any way, related with the abduction of Madeleine. I’ve been following this case, not only in the Web – I was also at Praia da Luz, for one week (May 17 to May 23). For the last two months, I also have followed the news on the Net very carefully and closely.
So, based on all the information I collected, either during my stay in Praia da Luz or in the Net, as a journalist, I CAN’T SEE THE SLIGHTEST EVIDENCE THAT GERRY AND KATE HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH HER DAUGTHER DISAPEARENCE.
And I AM ABSOLUTELY SURE, WITH THE INFORMATION I HAVE, NOW, THAT THERE IS NOTHING THE MCCAN CAN BE ACCUSED OF, FROM A LEGAL OR CRIMINAL POINT OF VIEW. I may be wrong, but I STRONGLY BELIEVE THE CHANCE OF BEING WRONG IS VERY SMALL: 0,1 per cent, as I'm 99, 9 per cent sure of what I say.
As a human being, a common man, father of two boys (one, 22 years old, the other 11) let me tell you this: I was at an arm’s distance from the McCanns, when they gave a Press Conference at Praia da Luz. I looked into the eyes of Kate McCann and I saw so much pain and suffering that I had to take a deep breath to control myself, to avoid tears coming to my eyes and not let emotion overcome me! I was schocked to see so much pain in her eyes and in her look! That's someting that only people that has kids can understand and feel! Publicada por Paulo Reis em 6:30:00 pm

I think it is reaching the stage where the only evidence we will have for quite a few articles will be to take screen shots. I have noticed very recently that there is a systematic "cleansing" on going ... and nothing to do with requests to Google, either.

Indeed. And the fact that the parents of other children who have been abducted and who have met or communicated with the McCanns totally believe them and support them is very significant IMO. Of all people they are sadly the experts on this vilest of crimes and the terrible affect it has - and have recognised that same affect in Madeleine's parents.

@)(++(* I love that efficient erasing. Who did that?
I don't think it is the scribbling that is the main point of the communication ... perhaps the relevant part of the communication is that the DNA in the car was bait that reporters swallowed ... Brunt being only one ... and many have continued to swallow it throughout the intervening period.
Brunt and the other reporters had an excuse for believing information from an official source and thus making whoopsies ... what excuse do the others who have perpetuated that recognised whoopsie have seven years on?

Since the first two paragraphs appear to be sensationalist, what makes you think the third isn't?
Your last question: I don't think most people do keep mentioning the hire car?

The dogs are neither here nor there ... the forensics are the important issue which someone for some reason best known to themselves leaked lies about to the press. Initially the media was taken in and although only until the release of the actual information ... job done ... there are those who still believe the lie which continues to be propagated and not the official result.
Explain that one if you please.
As for me I can only take my hat off to the proficient propaganda machine while wondering at the considered necessity for it.

What makes you think his first two statements are wind ups?
He did sometimes share a by line with Duarte Levy who at that time was an associate of Joanna Morais ... I was under the impression both are impeccable sources and Levy as we know is heavily into visual media ... the recipient of the email who I understand to be a blog admin would perhaps know what the first two comments are about ... why would you assume I would know or even have an opinion on them?
"Now I understand it was just a bait, and a lot of journalists swallowed it" ... is plain enough and is self explanatory.

The newspapers? I always thought they printed what sells from the information made available to them some of which resulted in headlines of 100% MADDIE'S DNA costing the proprietors a tidy sum once the truth in the FSS Report was made public.

I think they printed anything because anything would sell. Some of it they lifted from forums. They were crazy days. But even during those days the papers were still playing both 'sides'. The same issues that had lurid front pages would have articles and columnists that were supportive inside. It's like today, they would print front pages that were as lurid as possible, but there'd nearly always be nothing to the article behind it (it was just headlines).
Most of the inside of the papers was supportive though.

The clean up (which has been going on for years by wiping information off the internet) is accelerating ... and also fewer people putting their heads in the noose by making outragious statements.
They are aware that the case is over IMO.
IMO, SY know exactly who the perps are including the top dog. They have met mighty barriers wherever they have gone as they have closed in.
The question is, will the UK have the necessary clout to expose these people?
Or are they, sadly, so powerful that they are untouchables?

Hit the nail on the head for once there ... that is exactly why it is being done ... if I felt like confiding I could direct to an example of a well known quote which was removed from its original site ... not before it was copied by Pamalam but is now erased ... and now exists only in the form of a screen grab. There are too many which come into that category for it to be mere coincidence.
At some stage in the future if a redacted article is quoted it will be LOLled as a figment of the imagination as there is no provenance apart from a screen grab which it will be claimed has been photo shopped.

How right you are Brietta
It is happening all the time. I was noticing it way back in my pfa2 time, but nobody else seemed to. Also videos which support the Mccanns, their addresses were being slightly altered to prevent them being opened.
Sadly, I think that we on here have helped the Ant1-Mccanns by posting info up.
A section of the Ant1s, probably not known to most of them, has gathered the info together. They then have the chance to assess the impact. Then decide whether to vanish the articles. So much has gone
Please please screenshot everything pertinent, before it has gone .... and also take hard copies with date if possible.
This is interfering with evidence and is so serious that it should be a Police matter IMO
This vanishing of information is organised, big scale and very sinister. Big Brother-ish or Illuminatii-ish. IMO it is capable of changing the Course of Justice in every case in the future if it is not stopped.

I'm sure they didn't realise what they were doing and were just trying to be helpful. ?{)(**
Absolutely spot on with that one.
Individuals were trying to be helpful, checking for Madeleine; some were comforting her mother; the police were checking inside fridges, perhaps behind couches, in wardrobes particularly the spot just beside the wardrobe in the parents' room; then the dogs had to have somewhere to go to leave paw prints and hair and the officers had to have somewhere to deposit their cigarette ash.
It is the responsibility and duty of the attending officers to secure the crime scene ... unless it is different in a Portuguese jurisdiction where that is left to the victims of the crime??? I don't think so, somehow.

It is the responsibility and duty of the attending officers to secure the crime scene ... unless it is different in a Portuguese jurisdiction where that is left to the victims of the crime??? I don't think so, somehow.
the damage had been done by then.

I presume that DNA from the Tapas lot was found all over the place.

No it had not ... perhaps the inept taking of the first forensic traces which rendered them useless contributed greatly to the damage, who knows what information was lost by that ... but the first responders did not secure the crime scene ... possibly because they thought Madeleine had wandered off and would wander back of her own volition ... but it was THEIR responsibility to preserve the scene as soon as they arrived ... your excuses for that failure in procedure are risible.

Excerpts:- At that moment one of the GNR officers told the witness that they had already searched for the girl in the wardrobes and other places in the apartment without having taken any care as to leaving their own traces or for destroying or adulterating any traces that might be of interest to the investigation.
After the arrival of the witness and his colleague Vitor Martins the scene was isolated and the inspection began, namely the collection of statements and inspection of the scene, the respective reports that were subsequently attached to the process documents. Kate & Gerry never actually bothered to phone the police in the first instance, or at all for that matter, funnily enough.

So the mccanns and co., searched the apartment and cupboards with gloves on, and their clothing or other articles didn't contaminate the crime scene in the panic to find Madeleine ?

If you thought there was a possibility that your child, lay somewhere hurt, would you really be looking for protective gloves, before searching, Stephen? In a complete state of panic too.

Wouldn't matter in Gerry's case as it would be expected that his DNA would be everywhere.

So what are you suggesting about the family and friends, Stephen?
That, as they obviously would not have had forensic type gloves, THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE SEARCHED FOR MADELEINE ? Is thta what you want? Would that have been the correct procedure do you think?
No gloves so dont do anything? Jeez, I despair.
The Police, however, should have had the correct equipment before they did their search ... but they didn't use it.

The whole point was sadie, they claimed abduction from the start.
Why shear in a cupboard, etc., for an abducted child.

I am not enamoured by the Mccanns. My interest is in Justice ... and to stop / counter such foul bullying as we see every night on here.
They feared abduction right from the start but wanted it nopt to be. They did the natural thing and the right thing they thorougly searched the flat, tried to assess the situation {Gerry and the shutters) and then all but Kate who stayed with the twins searched the closest places, fanning out to more distant places.
Now are you saying that as they hadn't got forensic gloves, they shouldn't have searched all the hiding holes in the flat?

Kate knew immediately. Did she not say as much in her book?
