Repainted ?
All possible forensic work had been done on it, I suppose, and the owner needed legitimately money. Who would think that 2 dogs had still their word to say ?

I take it that's a figure of speech - dogs don't actually speak/use words - at least not in this neck of the woods.

The dogs (Grime) hadn't been and done their forensic's though, Anne.

The dogs were out of the equation until late July 2007 when the Brit Police recommended them be brought in

The last occupants, were in the apartment from 19th July till the 26th.
Eleven people used the apartment up to that date.
I actually saw some idiot post this,
I don't think the apartment was let out again after the mccanns. I have asked pro shills for a link to the evidence of this and they have ignored me. Saying the apartment was re-let was probably another way of having a dig at the PJ and Goncalo. @)(++(*
-
Farcical though the deployment of the dogs was (and Harrison, I suspect unwittingly, unleashed something of a Frankenstein's monster in recommending their use, though he need not have) I suspect the PJ felt, genuinely, at the point of the completion of their forensic sweep, that everything of forensic value there was to learn had been learnt.
Portugal, at that point, did not have a DNA data base and did not have a recognised and accredited system of checking profiles against profiles held on record for comparison purposes and so, perhaps, were a little more laid-back in their approach to the business of forensic gathering than other countries in the same circumstance might have been.
What ensued with the arrival of Grime and his canine team was pure farce ...

Tell that to the UK police, Harrison and Grime et al, ie that you know better and the dogs should *never* have been sent in

But, It makes another 11 more people's DNA, in the apartment. Fresh DNA too, think about it!

Long as they are all still alive and hadnt been in contact with dead bodies doubt it would matter that much, the British police thought it would be very useful to deploy the dogs, they are the professionals

I didn't say the dogs should never have been sent in.
Indeed, if the dogs had been properly deployed, they might have played a valuable part in eliminating the McCanns and focussing the investigation on attempting to track down the abductor.
But they weren''t properly deployed and, instead (because of the way their alerts were interpreted) did the opposite.
-
So FM once again, you know better than the professionals, fair enough, not bothered to argue the t...but feel free to carry on believing
-
So FM once again, you know better than the professionals, fair enough, not bothered to argue the t...but feel free to carry on believing
Whilst I would hesitate to say that I know better than Grime, I believe Grime played fast and loose from motives of personal agrandisement.
And there is certainly evidence from the files to suggest Harrison, upon observing all that came to pass, reached much the same conclusion ...
-
whatever FM, off your merrygoround here, Im sure others will love to debate this with you

The more these dogs' deployment is treated "farce", the more we have to reckon Eddie's barking where Keela doesn't freeze is an inescapable fact, whether we like it or not.
-
Keela signalled the boot of the car, indicating blood. Eddie did not signal the boot, indicating no blood.
-
"Apartment 5A was subsequently let between 12 and 19 June (to friends of the owner); 28 June to 12 July (to three people with Irish names); 12 to 19 July (to an English couple) and 19 to 26 July (to a family with Southern Asian names)."

Eddie wasnt sent into the boot, so.....if you are saying Keela made a false alert thats your right to think so but doesnt make it true
Ps for afterthought if you were wondering why eddie smelt something through the front door seal and not the back thats because the front one is much weaker than the boot

The holiday apartment from which Madeleine McCann vanished was rented out for two months before police sealed it off.
Four different groups of tourists were allowed to stay in the flat before forensics officers attempted to take blood and DNA samples from the rooms.
The resulting DNA analysis was inconclusive and laboratory scientists said samples were badly degraded and contaminated

Trigger happy?
First part of the post was querying the strength of the seals on the car.
The second part is referring to the OP.

I have read nothing about relative hermetic properties of the boot and door seals.

Misleading article to show the PJ as negligent, as when the flat was let out, they had finished their forensic testing, it was not known the British would send in their dogs months later, explain it any more simply than that
-
I have read nothing about relative hermetic properties of the boot and door seals.
Where have you read it?
I meant your asking me to comment on the flat being rerented, that was covered in the thread already. regarsing the door seals, its a general deduction on my part, passenger doors seals are worn down faster than boot seals in general and I only made the comment in case DAVEL was thinking why the dog didnt bark outside the boot seal
-
I was pointing out that the apartment was rented out four times.
You were so keen to criticise, you made a fool of yourself.

trigger happy? My post to you was in exact reverse order, to Davel, first referring to his idea that Eddie didnt alert in the boot therefore there was no blood, the second part was an afterthoufht asking him why he thought this, as Eddie wasnt sent into the car, perhaps he wondered why he didnt sniff through the boot seal
Anyway not going to sit here and be lambasted by you, just for joining in the convo, and get your jollies with trying to lord it over others 24/7 instead of having decent polite discussion and debate, which you seem to be incapable of,and as for trigger happy, im sure yours is a aka47 lol

Mere unsupported speculation on your part then.
A more likely explanation is simple error- they make incorrect alerts at least 10% of the time- one alert in ten on average.
-
Whatever, if you open your boot more times than you open your car door then thats fine, its totally unsupported speculation on my part
And you also dont KNOW if it is more LIKELY to be a dog error as you dont KNOW Keela or Eddie actually DO make errors 10% of the time so it is unsupported speculation on your part too, once you see their training and performance records only then will you be able to say it is more LIKELY
You know what? I wonder why this board and all others that are so called impartial or rather are more 80/20 are so unpleasant to post in
I post on a board about April Jones, there is no animosity there, people club together to exchange thoughts and ideas, we follow the trial, some believe Mark Bridger did not murder her, others do, but there is no way this massive cat fight day in day out on there

The flat was let out again because all the scientific police had done their job and Mark Harrison hadn't been yet solicited, i.e no one dreamt of deploying dogs in the flat before Mark Harrison, who perfectly knew the flat had been let many times, thought his dogs had "their word" to say.

It was a virtually new car though - it had only been rented out a few times.

That makes the dogs and Grime, just a waste of time and money, Anne.

What's clear is that Harrison recommended inspection of the holiday apartments, but nowhere Madeleine definitely never went.

The PT police had never heard of these dogs before, source, Olegario da Sousa
I wouldnt be asking if its supported in the filea if I were you as you seem to think they are half corrupted anyway

I don't think so, DCI, thanks to Eddie (imo), the tracking dogs' route has an explanation.

ETA: Yes, Harrison recommended deployment of the dogs, but did he know apartment 5a had been re-let?

Yes thats a good point but doesnt change the facts much vis a vis the original argument

Upon his arrival Mark Harrison had a long conversation with major Sequeira (the head of the searches).
-
IMHO the dogs and Grime were brought in
to produce a video to 'nab' the McCanns - and good, old Levy helped with that one
I can not think of another logical reason
That flat and all their posessions had thousands of other scents on them before the moggies arrived
Yet Grime made his dosh - just like he did in Jersey
It's really not that complicated
Everytime a coconut

Not only, Ferryman, he was given all the reports. But of course he must have been interested in those sniffers dogs who tracked the same route.

So you accusing Mark Harrison of being corrupt? tut tut
Levy did not film the video
he was at liberty to reproduce it like any other journalist when the fikes were releasedq
Dogs dont alert to thousands of scents
And coconut shells dont contain mammalian collagen
For Grime to fake his findings woukd be detrimental to his reputation if he did so and missing people turned up later on, when have his dogs alerted to a dead body and they turned up? And pls dont quote Shannon Matthews case, he wasnt on that

Some people need to take their head out of the sand and realise that Amaral was wrong re the alerts of the dogs.
Scotland Yard take the view that Maddie may still be alive. What does that say about the dogs' alerts?

Mr Amaral doesn't interpret dogs, Mr Grime does.
If SY excluded Madeleine might be alive, what would the tax payers say ?

Then you need to read what Grime said about the dogs' alerts. He certainly doesn't say they prove a corpse had been in the apartment.
As for the tax payers, everyone, including the McCanns realise that Maddie may well be dead. It is therefore important to find her killer.

Amaral was frustrated - Kate would not play ball - the emotive Levy video was meant to have her break down and
make her confess to 'anything'
Like her or loathe her - Kate sensed the ruse straight away
Amaral's tactics folded there and then - and just as well the FO kept a close eye on proceedings
