In so far as it is possible to piece anything at all together from this error-strewn official record, it seems they spent 50 minutes in apartment 5a; 3 to 5 minutes apiece in the other apartments ...
Inspection of the apartments.
Date: July 31st 2007 - 8pm. Report:
Participants:
PJ: Tavares A. & Ricardo P. Inspectors UK: Mark Harrison, Martin Grime (UK Forensic Canine P SM Expert), Eddie & Keela (English Springers) Silvia B. Manager of the Ocean Club complex.
On that date, inspections were conducted in the apartments occupied by members of the McCann family as well as the group who were with them at the time of Madeleine McCann's disappearance. It was only on that date that the apartment, identified as that of the parents, was empty allowing further investigation which was authorised by the respective occupants. Thus, at the appointed time, the search with the dogs began, covering the following apartments:
5A:
From 8.30pm to 9.20pm, the dogs go through. 8.20pm: The cadaver dog, "marks," the couple's wardrobe area in the bedroom. 8.22pm: The cadaver dog, "marks" an area behind the sofa in the sitting room near the window overlooking the road. From 8.47pm to 9.20pm, the blood detecting dog goes through. 8.10 (should it be 9.10?) The dog, "marks" an area of floor behind the sofa in the sitting room, near the window overlooking the road.
5B: 9.24 to 9.27pm: The cadaver dog did not alert on anything.
5D: 9.29 to 9.34pm: The cadaver dog did not alert on anything.
5H : 9.35 to 9.38pm : The cadaver dog did not alert on anything.
4G : 9.42 to 9.45pm : The cadaver dog did not alert on anything.

Dog showed no interest in them at all as opposed to showing interest in 5a immediately, simple as that

It appears that was not the case in the other apartments, and therefore finding the 'source' of the scent was not necessary
Hence the difference in time spent in an apartment where interest was shown compared to time spent in apartments where interest was not shown

As they didn't care for any other car but for the Renault Scenic, and Mrs. McCann's trousers, and a child's red shirt, etc etc

Dog sat patiently waiting for Grime to take the lead off.
There is no *vastly different* record. The dogs lead was taken off outside the apartment, when it went in, its behaviour changed as Mr Grime says.

OK what was done was we deployed the victim recovery dog into the apartment and by experience and the training of the dog what I first noticed is that as soon as I came in that the dog was very excited and as a handler I can pick up his body language etc and it would appear to me that as soon as he has come into the house he's picked up a scent that he recognises and he has then gone through the apartment trying to source where that scent source has come from and as he has worked through the house the only two places where he picks up enough scent to give me the bark alert are in this bedroom, in this corner where he was barking.

Redblossom, are you sure about this?
My impression is that the transcript extract that you've posted was related to 5A, but the video clip that you've posted concerns the villa.

Yes Carana I am sure, I mentioned in my post Eddies visit to 5a was from 13.30 mins, in fact the footage starts around 13.05
The video is an hour and half or so long, its not just the villa search.

That is not an official document, it appears to have originated on some blog, so not sure what it is doing in the DVD in the first place, here is the PJ official one
These two pages are an official document for the case file regarding the search dog examination of apartments in the Ocean Club, Praia da Luz, Lagos on 31 July 2007.
The seven participants are indicated as being two members of the Policia Judiciaria (PJ); UK NPIA specialist, Mark Harrison, and the UK dog handler, Martin Grime; the two English Springer spaniels - Eddie and Keela; and Mrs Sylvia Batista, a manager of the Ocean club who is noted as the holder of the keys to the apartment and who was present solely to open doors.
All the work performed was recorded on video in image and sound.
The apartments searched were those previously occupied by the McCanns and members of the holiday group. Only apartment 5A was unoccupied at the time of the search. Holidaymaker occupants of the other apartments gave permission for the search to be conducted in their respective apartments.
In apartment 5A: * between 20h16 (typing error in the report shows 21h16) and 20h30 the "cadaver" dog alerted: - at 20h20 in the area of the wardrobe of the main bedroom - at 20h22 in the lounge, specifically behind the sofa next to the window that overlooks the street.
* between 20h47 and 21.20 the "blood" dog alerted: - at 21h10 in the lounge, specifically on the floor behind the sofa next to the wondow that overlooks the street.
In apartments 5B between 21h24 and 21h27; 5D between 21h29 and 21h34; 5H between 21h35 and 21h38; 4G between 21h42 and 21h45; the "cadaver" dog made no alerts.
Between 21h49 and 22h00, in the garden adjacent to apartment 5A, accessible from by way of the veranada and steps, the cadaver dog alerted in a garden-bed directly below the veranda. ********************** and here is the inaccurate version, 4th one down, with a photo of cuddlecut
