Awww, you will never turn back the clock for that poor woman.  Reminds me of the Leonor Cipriano case, but without the additional torture.

Convicted on only the word of others.  No evidence; no proof .... and into the bargain her child gone

Every country in the world has a paedophile problem.

But I would guess that Portugal's paedophile problem is about one-tenth that of Britain's, because it has a population about one-tenth the size ...

I cant see anythng in that article that the mother was fitted up?? Shame on the police who let him out on bail, what were they thinking?

Yes, I agree. But of course, all tourist areas are magnets for a variety of crooks, it's easier to hide in plain sight if you're in an area where there are a multitude of people coming and going all the time. That's true everywhere, not only Portugal.
