First we have a self-proclaimed McCann supporter suggesting on his blog that the Scotland Yard review team is leaking like a piece of faulty guttering, now this headline in the Telegraph :
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/10139347/Home-Secretary-pledges-to-purge-corruption-from-police-after-Stephen-Lawrence-family-smear-allegations.html
Can we now expect the supporter contingent to condemnation as stringently the behaviour of SY as they have the PJ ?

Well, I'll risk one, Faithlilly. If the British start wondering whether they can trust the integrity of their most famous institution, this will be a tsunami in the Rule Britannia etc.
-
Indeed. The Lawrence case has highlighted the fact that UK police forces are no better or worse than any other.
Unfortunately.

A whitewash of MM case will never work ever and if anyone tries it they are digging their own grave
Some of the police in that case were despicable at best, they tried to fit up stephens friend who witnessed the attack, they spied on the victims family and friends to dig up dirt and destroy their cqmpaign, but they never went after the knife wielding gang, one of whose parent had police connections, disgusting overall, look forward to the day the s..m are exposed and convicted
the man who ordered this evil has to be exposed
having said that, you cant connect that evil episode of two decdes ago plus with the mccann case, in this day and age NO ONE is above the law and if any present police are even thinking of a cover up they will be dog meat IMO, well, i think so anyway
i posted this on the off topic forum
The stabbed and murdered victim and his friends and family were targetted by police in undercover operations to find dirt on them..and IIRC his friend dwayne was nearly fitted up too,.instead of directing this operation on the diagustinggang that killed him, youcouldnt make this evil shit up
the police in this country need to expunge this evil and corruption from their quarters and eradicate any mindset that enables it
There is a psychopathyand schizophrenia evident IMO when victims are derided ignored and used and killers left alone where the hell did this ideology come from??
its no different to eastern cultures who stone women for being raped, no difference at all

It's really getting up your nose that the McCanns aren't suspects, isn't it? As confirmed by DCI Andy Redwood in April last year, when he dismissed conspiracy theories and stated that SY believed that Madeleine was taken by a stranger in a criminal act. I do not have the link, but I'm sure someone will oblige.

A McCann supporter has claimed he has details regarding the review that he can't possible have obtained unless one of the review teams is leaking details to interested parties. Either that or he is a liar of the tallest order, which one is it ?

I'm not quite sure what the point is.
Anyone can start a blog. One blogger started a new one for almost every new thought that occurred to her.
On the police issue (anywhere): if there is evidence of corruption, bad apples, or whatever else - yes, of course it should be investigated.
What's the problem?

8@??)( 8@??)( 8@??)(
At least the British Gov. are acknowledging the probability and looking into what happened
There are bad eggs in every basket.
Such a pity that the Madeleine case got such a big bunch of them. I am sure someone else will list them with their crimes

It is a pity sadie. As to that list, shall we start of Kate and Gerry McCann. Their crime ? Let's start with a blatant disregard for their children's safety and work our way up eh.

It's just awful that the police ... the POLICE ... set out to smear Stephen Lawrence's family
I hope this is treated with the seriousness it deserves
Then again, given the appalling treatment of the Hillsborough victims, and their families, I don't hold out much hope

The former head of Scotland Yard looked decidedly uncomfortable when interviewed about the latest revelations in the Stephen Lawrence case while he was in charge. He didn't take long to state it had nothing to do with him.

Scotland Yard has had so much damage done to its reputation recently that it is looking very shaky in the credibility stakes. Heaven know what blame will be apportioned in the Stephen Lawrence case once an inquiry has run its course.

Dont forget though this was 20 years ago or so, things have changed, fact remains though that these officers who did this must have got the go ahead by their superiors or believed their superiors would be ok with it, unless theyare all outed as rogues, which I doubt

You only need to look at the Barry George stitch up by officers who also worked the Madeleine McCann case. I'm sorry to say I wouldn't trust any of them to do the right thing.

Gosh, then who would you trust to do the right thing, John ?
-
To be honest Anne, it is hard to say these days what with police corruption, cover ups and leaks of all sorts going right to the top.
I certainly wouldn't trust a police office, a politician or a judge with anything of significance in the UK given past experience.
Doing the right thing now means something else in terms of the great British Justice system.
...nuff said!
