Interesting to see how history repeats itself.
The photos of his parents' bedroom and the .22 rifle look chillingly familiar.
On release James Wolcott even gained his parents' estate and a monthly income from his father's pension. 8-)(--)
If Bamber had feigned/pleaded insanity, could he have been freed early and be walking among us unrecognised today ? >@@(*&)

Wow!
The photos are so White House Farm. Just goes to show if JB had the guts to admit what he'd done 28 years ago he might have been out now and enjoying the fruits of his crimes.
On the other hand as a drug dealer and user he would have probably have been shot dead in a gang war by now.
Wolcott is so American though. Like 20 stone with a pigtail that went out of fashion 30 years ago.

Unusual .... it's normally the British who hand out ridiculously lenient sentences and the yanks who lock 'em up for life!
I think Bamber is way too narcissistic to claim mental illness. He thought he was a great actor and far smarter than the coppers. Thankfully his own hubris lead to his downfall.

It says in the report that he killed his mother because she made a noise when she chewed her food. I can relate to this. I have to make sure that I have the wireless on at the table when eating with others, in order to drown the noise out.

Maybe you've got misophonia, Sika. There was a really interesting programme on radio 4 this week about it.
Alas, I suffer from Luggophobia, a fear of knobs. It is very debilitating. 8(8-))

Thanks Shona, I've just googled it. I will now search the iplayer for the programme. I get really pissed off when people sneeze and have never been able to work out why. I used to listen to a certain broadcaster on the wireless, until it became apparant that he had taken to sucking sweets as he spoke. It enraged me so much that I sent a letter of complaint to the BBC.

My g*d sika, if you're serious you really have got a problem - now I know why I got a slap on the head from my dad when I burped and slurped all the way through dinnertimes. I should have been born in India (I think ?), where these faults are thought to be good manners.
No wonder misophoniacs are unlivable with... http://www.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/series/wom (http://www.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/series/wom)
While looking for the above I've discovered Dr Peter Vanezis was on Desert Island Discs in 2001... although he gave no insight into the Bamber case.
Born in Cyprus, spoke no English when he came here, failed his 11 plus, but certainly made up for it since, thank goodness !

Cool I wonder what his favorite records were?
"Please release me let me go."
"The Ballard of Bonnie and Clyde."
"No One Is Innocent" – The Sex Pistols
"Psychopathy Red" – Slayer
"What's That Smell?" – Macabre
"Gary Gilmore's Eyes" – The Adverts
"Killing for Company" – Swans
Any suggestions?
Oh I see they publish his list. I am disappointed.

I think he would rather escape from the blood and gore at the end of his working day, Outlook, and I hope you've not bookmarked those you mentioned to play to yourself when you're scanning the forum ! Although having said that he included "Bohemian Rhapsody" - I killed a poor boy, etc.
I picture you having a more refined taste than that... don't say you're into heavy metal !

"Bohemian Rhapsody" is a bit suspicious at best.
Second verse....
"Mama, just killed a man
Put a gun against his head
Pulled my trigger, now he's dead
Mama, life had just begun
But now I've gone and thrown it all away
Mama, ooo
Didn't mean to make you cry
If I'm not back again this time tomorrow
Carry on, carry on, as if nothing really matters."
No I am more into String Quartets myself.
-
I fought the law- The Clash
Liar- Sex Pistols
The drugs dont work- Verve
-
Psycho Killer .... Talking Heads
All these thing I have done ..... The Killers

Oh all lovely choices, we would have a great time on our desert island.
8@??)(
I just thought Delilah - Tom Jones. With that lovely verse:
"She stood there laughing,
I felt the knife in my hand and she laughed no more."
Here is the link to a TOTP video from around 1968. I do not think there is anyone over 13 on the dance floor.

Don't say that Outlook, or else they'll all be crying rape and suing for compensation !!
To think we used to look such idiots dancing like that... well the boys did anyway.
Wasn't it Prince Phillip who called him "that bl**dy awful singer", but I thought he was quite good... then.
I've got one... by burly chassis - the words fit Mister Goldhanger perfectly !

Oh lovely, you will have me singing "Goldhanger" everytime I hear this from now on.
Much to my surprise I find out that Delilah is the anthem of Stoke City FC and also for Welsh Rugby Fans. Nothing like singing about a stabbing before a game!
But your "Goldhanger" is just brilliant. I will compose the lyrics.
How about:
Goldhanger, he's the man
The man with the midas touch
A spider's touch
Such a cold finger
Beckons you to enter his web of sin
But don't go in
Golden words he will pour in your ear
But his lies can't disguise what you fear
For a golden girl knows when he's kissed her
It's the kiss of death from Mister Goldhanger
Julie Mugford, beware of his heart of gold
This heart is cold
Golden words he will pour in your ear
But his lies can't disguise what you fear
For a golden girl knows when he's kissed her
It's the kiss of death from Mister Goldhanger
Bamberettes, beware of his heart of gold
This heart is cold
He loves only gold
Only gold
He loves gold
He loves only gold
Only gold
He loves gold
