The Judicial Police is already in possession of the letter rogatory from the Madeleine McCann case, the missing child in the Algarve in 2007. This is a list of steps that will be made at the request of the British police, who declined to be interviewed more than 30 witnesses, that have already been heard by the PJ. However, British researchers consider that there were questions that remained to be done and clues that were not exploited until exhaustion. A letter rogatory is extensive and will be enforced by the Board of the South in Faro.
Any displacement of a delegation of British police in the Algarve is not yet certain and will be articulated with the prosecution, but it is certain that, once in the country, they can not be to perform the steps. Can only watch what the Portuguese police do. inspectors that will give effect to the letters rogatory will not be the same as investigating the disappearance. The team is already established, only not yet know when will start the steps. The PGR has secured more than once, that there is no evidence to justify the reopening of the investigation, filed in 2008, one year after the disappearance.

Nice Portuguese, isn't it ? They formed a brand new team of inspectors to serve the British, no risk of sabotage !

Inspectors will not be the same that investigated the disappearance in Praia da Luz.
Translation:
The UK authorities requested, the PGR accepted, the investigations will truly happen.
The rogatory letter about the Madeleine McCann case is already in the hands of PJ.
From the list of investigations, are inquiries of more than 30 witnesses, people that have already been listened by PJ, but the British considers that have many questions to be answered and leads that have not been exploited until exhaustion, in what was the most expensive investigation in Portugal.
The rogatory letter is extensive and will be attended by the Directory of South in Faro, the possible dislocation of a team of British policemen to Algarve is not yet certain, but it will be articulated by the Public Ministry but it is certain that once in Portugal, they cannot conduct the investigations, they can only assist about what PT police will do.
The PGR also guaranteed more than once, that there are not yet new evidences to justify the re-open of the case, shelved in 2008, one year later from the disappearance.
The investigators that will proceed to the rogatory letter, will not be the same that investigated the disappearance in Praia da Luz.
The team is already created, what is not known yet is when will they start the investigations.

Good to see things finally getting underway but I can see a problem here straight away as the case is the jurisdiction of the Portuguese and they are still officially saying that they will only open the case if and when there is reliable new evidence to justify it.
SY have never indicated that they are in possession of any such evidence. In fact, all we have had from them is suggestions about people of interest. I'm afraid that lists of people of interest, many of whom are either dead, elderly, or departed elsewhere will be too little too late as far as the PJ is concerned.

The Portuguese have formed a team of "neutral" inspectors to answer SY's requests which seem to be interviewing more deeply certain witnesses. There's not yet any evidence to reopen the case, but if that comes they'll reopen. I'm absolutely sure of that.

You appear to be confused Anne. The Portuguese are in charge of this case and without evidence they won't be spending another Euro on it. They won't be going out interviewing people as that constitutes "opening the case". Its a no brainer...a sort of a Catch-22 situation.
Leicestershire Constabulary were required to cooperate when the PJ sent rogatory requests to them but the same does not apply in reverse I'm afraid. The PJ are the investigating authority, the crime whatever it was occurred in Portugal. The Portuguese therefore hold all the cards.
