Title: Should I visit Jeremy?
Post by: John on September 11, 2012, 10:59:52 PM
I have been told a lot of things about Jeremy recently and some of it might shock you as it shocked me.

I have been thinking about visiting Full Sutton for a while given everything that we have learned about the case and I am more than ever determined to visit him.  Assuming he will allow it of course.

Well, that is very intriguing John!  I guess it's stuff that you can't divulge on here, more's the pity.

I definitely think that you should visit him.  Do you think that he would see you?

OMG John you can't say you have had shocking news about Bamber and not tella us what!!!! GGGGrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!

I am sure Bamber will never give you a Visiting Order but if he will then yes do visit him. I fear you might be too nice a bloke though John and Bamber might have some success playing you! If you come back convinced he is innocent you have to sell the forum to Shona and Andy!!! Agreed?

If you read Bamber's latest blog he is convinced he is going to get on TV to argue his case; some hopes! There is no way any video interview would be allowed. You can be damn sure that McKay and MWT would have had Bamber on screen if they could have in the recent ITV documentary.

There would be good money in a filmed Bamber interview and we all know McKay and Bellis are in it for the money. I am sure if they could have they would have!

Johm I think there is a damn good chance Bamber will put huge doubts in your mind yes! I think you maybe too nice and soft for the master manipulator! Your brain will still tell you he is guilty though!

Now WTF is this shocking news?

Absolutely, if you get the chance go and visit. Though of course do beware that anyone who meets him does seem to get drawn into his web very easily. If you take this into account I don't think there's anything to lose and possibly lots to gain.

I think it's one of those things that if you don't do it, you're going to regret it.
Whether he 'mans up' and 'fesses, I can't see it, I think it'll still be 'Poor Sheila, she did it but she was ill' and whether he answers anything truthfully-can't see it, he's had 25 and odd years of repeating the same mantra.

Clearance is tough!!

It's not only his decision.

Believe me AA, I didn't say it would be easy but I am prepared to try.  I have always said that there is a very slim chance that Jeremy is a victim and the unluckiest guy in the country.  If there is any way of bringing closure to this then I would want to take it.

I am very aware that you have had a personal relationship with Jeremy over many years so I would seek your help in securing a visit.  I know that you still believe in him AA irrespective of his failings so something to think about.  We both know that there is a certain individual who will be horrified at the possibility of a visit but that in itself could be beneficial to Jeremy?

I will start the ball rolling in any event and see what happens. I will post any correspondence as and when it is available.

It's apparently really tough to visit him - because he is only allowed a certain number and has already got people on that list. I remember Keira saying she had applied for it a few times and he had turned her down - and she was someone trying to give money to them for their legal tests!

I have just seen this response by ngb1066 (Neil Bellis) on the Jeremy Bamber forum to a post by Aunt Agatha which in itself relates to Mat's parting shot...

Quote from: ngb1066
What a total load of rubbish.  You have not been an active member here for a long time.  You seem to prefer hanging out on Lamberton's forum.  You certainly keep good company.  Are you trying to help Lamberton to visit Jeremy?

As far as Mat is concerned, he left because he chose to.  All is not as it seems.

Finally - how do you know what Jeremy would think?

http://jeremybamberforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,3251.msg125990.html#msg125990

The bit which interest me is shown in bold text.

Have I upset poor Neil by daring to believe I could visit Jeremy?

Maybe Aunt Agatha will come with me?

John, have you written to Jeremy? Wouldn't it be a bit strange to suddenly, out of the blue, ask permission to visit him? What reason would you give him for your desire to visit him - that you think there is a small, a very small chance that he might be innocent, but that overall you are convinced of his guilt?
What would "be in it" for Jeremy - what could he gain from a visit from you?

And P.S. the secrecy is killing me - I am not good with that!!!

Perhaps if there was a girlie who thought he was probably innocent Bamber might let her visit? Perhaps one with a Danish accent?

I have never had a desire to meet Jeremy Bamber - or to write to him. First of all, I am not sure I would like him at all, secondly, I wouldn´t know what to say to him, since I don´t know one way or the other whether he is guilty or innocent. Well, of course I could say that - but for what purpose?! As if he cares!

It's all quite simple Abs and everyone I have watched who has turned from innocent to guilty has said it: Sheila could not have committed those murders so Jeremy Bamber must have! And no that does not mean I think yr stupid!

I think it is very simple. Everyone who knew Sheila says she couldn't and wouldn't have committed those murders. She certainly couldn't have done them and finished up in pristine condition. She could never have inflicted those extensive injuries on Neville without breaking a fingernail!

To me those are simply the facts the prove Bamber guilty. Never mind Julie's testimony and the blood in the moderator!
And of course Bamber's callous behaviour!

IMHO of course.

No secret abs.  I stated last week that I had got the ball rolling and then the abuse started from the blue forum.  You would think they were jealous or something?   @)(++(*

Jeremy knows very well who I am and what my beliefs are based on the evidence so he is in no doubt where I am coming from.  If he is indeed innocent he will want to avail of every opportunity to try and persuade me of this.  If he is guilty then he hasn't got much to gain and I would expect a negative response.

Either way, I have little to gain and the trip will cost me quite a bit.  The offer is there so it is up to him now.

Except for a psychologist who interviewed him before the trial and came to the conclusion that if ever there was a psycopath Bamber most certainly was one? If you take the view that he is a psycopath it certainly makes things a lot easier to understand. Psycopaths are adept at manipulating people, a psychologist who interviewed Ted Bundy said he began to feel manipulated by him. Again, if you take the view that Bamber is a master manipulator it is hardly surprising that Jackie believes in him wholeheartedly following conversations with him. Perhaps I would be readily convinced if I were to spend time in his company. Perhaps John would....

Yes, I intend to assuming he will see me.   8(0(*

Jeremy: Yes, I have to admit I did do it!

Joking aside guys, I get the distinct impression that some members don't want me to visit Jeremy.   Two have already intimated as much in their posts so I am wondering what the problem is?

Is there a good reason why I shouldn't visit Jeremy, assuming of course that he agrees to it?

Maybe it's a way of giving him the attention he thrives on, John. You're giving him oxygen. Personally, I'd spend the dosh involved on a nice meal, and let the b....r rot.

That's very true Shona and I can understand why that view is very valid.  I just felt that since we have all discussed the case in such depth for such a long time that he deserved the opportunity to respond to us directly.  To be perfectly frank though I don't believe he will allow it as he has up until now only had the faithful to visit.

I just don't think you're going to get any answers or more information out of him than what's in the public domain. I think he has a script and it's served him well for 25 years. Write to him and ask him things, I don't think he's going to give anymore up if he meets you face to face.
How many different legal eagles have been involved with him? He's still in the same place, spinning the same old, same old.
Shona is right.
You can't polish a shit.

The thing is though, he hasn't been challenged for 27 years and didn't even give evidence at his trial which I personally think was a mistake  All the lawyers who have ever visited him are lick arses and don't really care about the truth as we do.

It is interesting that Jackie appears to be a lone voice in wanting me to meet with him.

I think you need to do this regardless of what other people think, I don't think your mind will be at rest until you have done it.

Hi John,  It is up to you in the end but I would recommend you do not waste your time.  He is the only one who will benefit and he would enjoy the prominence your visit gives him.  If you do decide to go slip him a razor blade or a length of rope so he can do the one decent thing in his worthless life but he would never have the guts.
