Title: Is there a McCann ban placed on the friends and family from speaking?
Post by: Robittybob1 on April 30, 2017, 10:10:28 PM
A friend wrote " The McCann's have put a banning order on 'Family & Friends'.. This is why we don't hear anything from them..including their parents."  Does anyone know if this is true?

Which friend Rob?  I advised you previously that we need more information.

And where was it written?

Interesting if true. But not surprising at all.

There is circumstantial evidence that the parents controlled what was said to some extent;

For a good couple of hours we were on the phone, calling family and friends to make them aware of the situation and to give them the green light to voice their outrage and despair if they wanted to. Nobody needed a second invitation. They’d all been struggling to contain their concerns for a long time.

Yes, that was in the beginning when trying to cover their behaviour they were screaming no one was looking for Maddie... which we all know was not true at all.

A Facebook friend if it is essential.  So I can't use her name without her permission.

There was a reply that was supposedly from an interview.
It maybe from this article "Emotional McCanns deny 'pact of silence' on Maddy" http://www.independent.ie/world-news/europe/emotional-mccanns-deny-pact-of-silence-on-maddy-26578825.html

Looking at it is definitely denied by Gerry McCann.
Quote:
"Ms Felgueiras quizzed them on claims there was a "pact of silence" between the couple and friends on holiday with them when Madeleine disappeared.

Mr McCann explained that there was no pact, but they had all refused to talk to the media about what happened that night in line with Portugal's strict judicial secrecy laws.

The journalist also asked if they felt they were victims of the Portuguese investigation, to which Mr McCann replied: "The victim is Madeleine."

Ms Felgueiras said afterwards: "It is two-and-a-half years after Madeleine disappeared and this was the first time they talked to us in a big interview since the files were closed. I think I should feel free and they should feel free to talk about it. It would be the only chance to clear up the rumours."

But Mr McCann insisted that: "The place to have those discussions is in the judicial and legal environment where they can be properly assessed and dealt with within the bounds of the law."

Since there is no pact of silence according to Gerry I think it is time to interview the Tapas 7 and Jez Wilkins and make a documentary about that.

I see a reference to this in that latest interview with Goncalo Amaral https://joana-morais.blogspot.co.nz/2017/04/maddie-enigma-in-depth-report-by-cmtv.html

"Gonçalo Amaral - "What should have been done at the time and wasn't, was that the parents who were in fact responsible for the safekeeping of the child should have been suspected from the start, with what that entails and is necessary for the investigation namely the interception of telephone calls, surveillance, etc, of the parents but also of their group of friends, because we don't know, suppose for a moment that when that group of friends go to the apartment the child was still there, we have no idea if that happened or not.""
