Did Amaral meet with Kate and/or Gerry McCann?

During his active part in the investigation?

Gonçalo Amaral, head of the regional Polícia Judiciária and co-ordinator of the case was removed from the case in October 2007.

Did he have a face to face meeting with Kate and/or Gerry McCann prior to his removal? Or indeed any members
of the McCann's circle of vacationers?

Mr. Murat I believe, he did meet personally on at least one occasion.

I understand he never met them while in charge of the investigation.

He was in their proximity for the first time in Court over the book ban.  Although he might have been hiding behind dark glass when they were being questioned.

Thank you for clearing this up.

Peculiar, that Mr. Amaral would not want to have a meeting with persons who last saw Madeleine in 5a - before
the disappearance?

Even if his English is not up to scratch to have talked to them in English - surely they have professional and accredited interpreters in Portugal.   

Or do they solely use estate agents for interpreting matters in PT police cases?
