The inordinately short Receptionists Statement?

Given the prominence and significance of the resort receptionist as the initial coordinator in this case does anyone else find it remarkable that his statement merely consists of a few sentences and even then they are vague and conflict with the evidence given by several other witnesses as to events that night.
