What you call "making excuses" might seem like "reasonable questioning" for someone who doesn't believe JB is guilty,  who isn't sure either way, or who is new to the case.

Like you have just said - I call it making excuses. I did it myself for quite some time until I realised that I was doing it more and more and found that even I thought that many excuses were just not credible.
